Stained Glass

100 Happy Days #12

001

I know, I know…I’m in the middle of the other project…about a million “other projects” if the truth were known. But it felt lovely to pack up the pieces of the Stained Glass afghan to work on while I was visiting my far away boy and his wife. It is, after all, for them. So they didn’t think I’d forgotten to do it altogether, I brought the evidence, and worked on it for hours and hours. When does anybody ever get to do that? It was pure heaven, I tell you.

It made me calm and peaceful…

and oh, so happy.

  1. Seeing your stained glass crafts today made me feel happy, and that’s kind of a big deal for a day like today. Thanks for the light always, my dear. You really are a gem in my life.

  2. I just keep staring and staring at it… a lot of times I just read your nice posts and kind of smile and go on. But this thing that you’ve made, I keep coming back to it. Really fills up a hole in my heart with the quiet beauty that all art has a way of doing.

    I know this is a special project for your boy and you already have so much on your table (trust me I know what it’s like to have a million projects always! that’s me to a “T”) But if you ever see one of these, just a little one, I’d like to be the first to buy it. I feel like I need something like this in my life so I hope you say yes! <3

  3. It could happen. This one was a bit of a intricate deal at times–but once I got the hang of it, it went faster. And I do have to have a project to work on. :}

  4. Yes, what would we do, where would we turn without our small list of “half a billion” joyful little (big) projects to work on (devote more hrs than there are in a day) ? Haha it’s awesome.

    Thanks for considering it. You don’t know how happy it makes me to hear you say that. Stained glass is a huge lesson for me right now. In the dark they just look like dirty. broken windows. In the light, they are stunning works of art. I want to be like that today…

  5. This is one of my favorite things you’ve done. It’s completely amazing and I can’t wait to see how it looks all together. I don’t know if you’ll ever want use that pattern again, but if you do I’ll be in line for one! <3
