Squishies

I seriously have mixed feelings about all these…things. I made them because I wanted to have some things at the Farmer’s Market that would appeal to boys.

Still, some of them are so gross they make me kinda sick. Haha. This Zombie for instance. Blaugh.

The bubbling cauldron is ok.

It just sits calmly until you squish it and then it bubbles over!

Frankie blows bubbles….

like the candy corn.

Kinda cute and kinda nasty.

Haven’t decided which yet.

As long as the kids like them, it’s a win…right?

Yak. Haha.

Slightly Grumpy Kitties

These cuties are called “Loaf Cats” probably because they resemble a short squatty loaf of bread…or a sausage.

My problem with these guys is that they don’t look particularly…you know… happy. So, I thought, that’s easily remedied.

One needle and a bit of thread later…

Problem now is that they don’t look right somehow. Cute and happier, sure, but still…um…

wrong.

Luckily, that, is also easily remedied.

Yeah, I took the smiles all off. Sounds weird, but I suppose there are some creatures that look better with a straight face.

Don’t quote me.

Perry the Platypus

While contemplating my spooky Farmer’s Market booth that is looming…(AHHHH!) one of my kids suggested that I make Perry the Platypus from Phineas and Ferb.

You know…THIS guy.

So I did.

And while he may be lacking in the crime fighting, ninja skills…

he’s still soft and cuddly and cute.

He’s certainly more friendly than that other grumpy guy.

So I made more….

Heh, heh.

Too Sooooon

My beautiful tree that we planted in the front yard a couple of years ago is doing something…

funky…

bizarre even.

In the middle of July, it started changing and turning orange.

Now you need to know that changing early is weird enough, but we chose this tree because it promised to change to a beautiful scarlet each fall…SCARLET…

NOT orange.

My wise woman daughter came over and decided that it needed a little tlc, so they dug around it and gave it more water-gathering space.

Hopefully it is just thirsty because I certainly don’t want to be accidentally murdering my tree. But besides that, I reeeeeeally don’t do…

orange….

except for Halloween.

Fingers crossed.

That Silly Mama

These little souls were born nice and politely in the big basket that Dali and I agreed upon weeks ago.

But this funny, free spirited  cat of mine is never content to leave things–or babies–where they were yesterday.

So, out on the floor, in the corner of the storage room they go.

Whatever makes her happy I suppose.

Should have named her Gypsy.
