Some Lovely Stuff…

going on around here…

~this little Magoo who thinks he’s eight months old, when he’s really just barely 6, and no amount of pleading will make him believe or behave otherwise.

~a little water sprite who can’t resist getting just a little splashy sometimes.

~having a beautiful view of “Y” mountain while I sit in the car waiting for a friend.

~fresh, beautiful, juicy, irresistible, marvelous new peaches…all for me.

~a pretty little butterfly that flew gracefully from Miss Chompy’s fingertips clear up to the branches of the crab apple tree. What? You can’t see him?! Trust me, he’s there.

~outdoor lights on a late summer evening.

~and this silly boy–in case you didn’t believe me the first time around.  :}

For Another Day…

I was going to write a post telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth about my silly little garden and all of it’s woes and calamities. But to be honest–I’m just so happy to have these pretty little Sun Sugar tomatoes fresh from…well…what’s left of my garden, that I haven’t got a whiney thought left in me.

Instead, I have a whole bucket full of goodness to gobble up and it’s a scrumptious distraction.

I’ll tell you about the other stuff…later.

If I remember.

Things To Love~

this very minute…

A little girl who loves patterns and fabric just like her mama.

Seeing some of the best toys in the world coming around a second time.

Finding a very special note–just for me–on my desk, from a cute little Chompy.

Getting very close to the end of a particularly favorite project.

Great big trees and teeny tiny girls.

Being asked to make the family favorite slippers…again, only this time, in blue.

A rainbow just appearing from out of nowhere.

Figuring out the REAL reason some kids love soccer.

{ Our Purpose }

 “The Creation, great as it is, is not an end in itself but a means to an end. We come to the earth for a brief period of time, endure our tests and trials, and prepare to move onward and upward to a glorious homecoming. Our thoughts and deeds while here will surely be more purposeful if we understand God’s plan and are thankful for and obedient to His commandments.

As beneficiaries of the divine Creation, what shall we do? We should care for the earth, be wise stewards over it, and preserve it for future generations.  And we are to love and care for one another.”

Russell M. Nelson

Things To Love~

right this minute…

Mr. Beck’s little guy soccer game–that he simply LOVES!

A cozy comfort food of hash and hominy–a huge favorite dish from my childhood–that’s followed me to grown-up hood.

A couple of soggy water sprites that positively had to be locked out of the house.

Working on a few new patterns for the shop…more on that coming soon. :}

Patio lights on a warm summer evening.

A sleeping baby on your shoulder.

Musicians in the park just playing for the heck of it.

Meeting a dear, dear friend for the very first time…

and admiring all the gorgeous hats that she made by hand. This gal needs an Etsy shop I tell you!

Letting Miss Chompy check my purse for treats.

Finally, finally getting the coveted Root Beer Float Shave Ice–with real cream–before summer is totally…over.
