Did I just use the word, “Bonanza?” Was that me? Yikes.
Come here for a minute…I want to show you something.
I know I’m taking a huge risk in letting you witness my personal addiction–but they say that the first step to healing—is to admit that you have a problem in the first place.
Ok, ok…so I admit it.
Not going to fix it, but I admit it. ha!
My “problem” comes in the form of…
cookbooks. I can’t seem to ever get enough of them.
Consequently, we have this seven foot tall shelf full of my darlings. Oh, and there are some stacked on top too.
And these ones wouldn’t fit on the shelf at all…anywhere.
Some times I even buy the same cookbook twice–accidentally–just because the cover is different. It’s hard to tell sometimes. And then sometimes I buy the same one when the cover isn’t different–because I liked it twice…I guess. It could happen to you…maybe.
Dear, dear. Whatever shall I do?
I know~
We’ll have a giveaway! Yes, yes–that’s it. An easy one this time.
Here it is…
Leave a comment below telling us a recipe you would like to see us make–anything at all–and you’ll be entered to win. If your name is drawn, you’ll win not one, but TWO of my very own cookbooks, “Cupcakes, Muffins and More,” and “Country Soups.” Really, really good stuff…besides…I have…two.
How’s that for scaling back? See? I do try to be rational.
I’ll announce the winner on Friday morning May 21 at 10:00 am.
Now run along my friends–and comment.
I’d love your input~
especially if it feeds my addiction.
And it will.
:]
You should make a crockpot cake. They sound delicious!
I think that you should make something healthy and easy! don’t get me wrong, I totally love all the chocolate and cakes and good, wonderful, yummy, desserts. But I am currently on a (not so yummy) diet. Sigh. So, I would love it if you could find me a great recipe using low fat meat and veggies! Tall order I know, but ohhh so useful if you know what I mean!
Broccoli cheese soup or roasted red pepper soup. It would be nice to have good recipes of both of those.
Ha ha!! That is my very same addiction!! Jesse thinks I’m crazy (well, kinda), but he doesn’t complain too much when he gets to reap the rewards 😉 I think you should make something springy, maybe a really yummy pie or dinner!! We love you!!!
How about something with asparagus! I love it! I too have an addiction for cookbooks- just cant seem to get enough of them and love to just browse through them!
Heading back east tomorrow for Sami’s house- was looking through your old posts to your NY trip- we are going to spend a couple of days in NYC- take Tyler to THE toy store! and the zoo in central park- so excited- now if my work would just finish itself so I could get on to the fun stuff!!
I love cookbooks too. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), my husband shares the same addiction.
I want to see some recipes for snow and/or sugar snap peas. I’ve planted a lot this year and want some other ideas besides just stir fry. I’m having trouble thinking of anything though.
You are so hilarious! I would love to see a crockpot dish…but not with chicken unless you know how to make it so it isn’t so dry!! My chicken crockpot recipes always come out dry…got any solutions in those cookbooks of yours?? =)
Creamy Chicken Italiano from the “Fix it and Forget it” cook book (the best crock pot cook book in the universe). No dry chicken here, just heaven in a pot.
….food, all food is good. Just no chocolate. 🙁 What about some really good fruit smoothie ice cream shake kind of stuff???? That could be fun.
Also, I really only cook chicken in my crock pot. I love the “Fix it and Forget It” cook book. Also the “101 Things to Do With A Slow Cooker” is fantastic too. I have found that you always need a lot of liquid to keep your chicken really moist. I like using a jar of my homemade salsa. I always add extra liquid.
I have an almond butter cookie recipe I want you to feature. I even took pictures of ingredients for you once. But I didn’t get any “in process” shots and accidentally left them in too long — they burned! But it’s awesome and easy.
I have the same problem sometimes. I collect many different recipes. I need to get more organized.
I have a unlikely recipe involving cheese-its, peanut butter, and white chocolate. Sounds terrible, but delicious. I would love to win this fantastic bonanza. I have a great lack of cook books. I have one my mother literally hand wrote, in pencil. And that’s about it.
Hmmm…it sounds like I need this recipe. Do you share them?
:]
How about some of those nice soft pretzels they sell at the Mall. Got any experience with them? YUM
Ahhhhhh… That is my very same addiction!! You should make a focaccia.. Got any experience with it? YUM!!!
Barbara
I have started my own little collection of cookbooks… I am years behind you, but I did fill and entire box with them while packing. My mom has a bunch too, but not quite as many as you. I think she has about 4 or 5 shelves. About 2/3 of a 6 foot bookshelf.
So you want ideas… how about some more amazingly tasty but also super easy, with mostly normal ingredients that most people will have in the cupboard. I always need new ideas, but I also try to keep my grocery bill low.
I have made focaccia exactly twice. It’s wonderful and makes the house smell beautiful for days. I’ll have to put it on here. I’ll do it soon. Thanks.
Yes, in fact, if you go to the link below, I’ll show you our silly experience. This is what happens when you let the bald kid help with the dough.
