Oh, we can’t seem to help ourselves. For the last few years, this season pulls us to the Hale Center Theater for another evening ofย “A Christmas Carol.”
You could say, it’s becoming a holiday family tradition. Hmmm…like the sound of that.
Please forgive the fuzzy photos–it was mostly dark, and you know, we get so excited that weย have trouble sitting still.
I can prove it. And this is before we’ve seen any Christmas ghosts.
Lucky for us the incredible main guy–old Scrooge himself–is the same fellow as last year. Funny, scary, sad, adorable–as always and yet…
there are enough new twists and turns to keep us coming back over and over again…
or for the first time.
Keeping family traditions—starting family traditions.
Either way.
It’s a lovely Christmas thing.
Do you have a favorite family tradition?
the Nutcracker and that Hoska thing I mentioned earlier!
I think I’m going to start a cinnamon roll on christmas morning tradition. ๐ We’re still thinking of and implementing traditions at our house.
OooOOooh–Nutcracker! We haven’t seen that in years, but we used to every year when the girls were in ballet. It is so magic. We’ll get back into it when the little ones can sit still a bit longer. :}
Ummmm…that one sounds perfect. Around here, the egg bake would go over well. We need protein…then the sugar. :}
We always take one FHE each December and drive around with big ol’ mugs of hot chocolate and look at the Christmas lights on the homes in the foothills. That’s one of our favorites! ๐
I like your ‘tradition’ of A Christmas Carol….you all look like you’re really enjoying yourselves and ya can’t ask for more than family and fun!
Around here we have to watch (to my hubby’s disappointment) A Christmas Story. Just wouldn’t be Christmas day without it on the TV at least part of the day.
I love the cinnamon roll Christmas breakfast tradition! ๐ This will be the first in SOOOO MANY years that we won’t be keeping that tradition since we found out hubby is diabetic. ๐
ah, you are a genius, April ( and Happy Birthday a few days late)–the cinnamon roll recipe on this blog is to die for and having it part of what you HAVE to eat on Christmas is a great idea and tradition.
What a fun tradition you’ve started… I’m pretty glad you thought of it! ๐ I love traditions, but I feel like I need to start inventing them or something. I don’t want force it… but I don’t want to miss out on any holiday fun. ๐
Never thought of the hot chocolate part! What a good idea.
We feel that way about Muppet Christmas Carol…sooo sweet. Sorry about your husband…Maybe he’s like a baked apple–they aren’t so sweet. ๐
It’s dang good–especially if you make it the day before and bake it that morning. yum!
We need to drive around and see the lights. That would be fun too.
