100 Happy Days #13
This is Peaches. Isn’t she just beautiful? She is lucky enough to belong to my sweet little daughter in law who has always wanted her very own parrot. One day–two of them showed up at the animal shelter looking for just the right kind of home. Our sweet little Kortney just happened to be at the right place at the right time and Daney-boy said, “We’ll take them.”
Lucky little birdies.
This is Peaches’ husband–Avocado or “Avo” for short. You should see these cute things–they dance and play with Dane and hang all over Kortney like she’s Dr. Dolittle. The Bald guy even walked around with them on his shoulders for a couple hours.
I didn’t actually hold them myself. Too big of a chicken, I guess.
But it was fun to watch.
Seeing animals who are loved makes me very happy.

I know, I know…I’m in the middle of the other project…about a million “other projects” if the truth were known. But it felt lovely to pack up the pieces of the Stained Glass afghan to work on while I was visiting my far away boy and his wife. It is, after all, for them. So they didn’t think I’d forgotten to do it altogether, I brought the evidence, and worked on it for hours and hours. When does anybody ever get to do that? It was pure heaven, I tell you.
It made me calm and peaceful…
and oh, so happy.

Playing games with some of my favorite people makes me very happy indeed–even if I have to travel 250 miles to do it.

At it again, I’m afraid.
This pattern–that you may remember from a few weeks back, was just too much fun.
It’s the perfect pattern to work in front of a movie or to ease a few more rows in before bedtime.
So soothing and nice that I actually offered to make one for my sweet little expectant niece. Yep…offered.
She wanted a cool, springy mint color for this little girlie who was due in three weeks.
Well, I finally finished it the other night and folded it up to wait.
She must have heard that her soft, fluffy blankie was ready and decided to come try it out.
New sweetheart–born just yesterday. Welcome, little one.
Makes us all very happy indeed.
