Tender Mercies or Grandmother Willow’s Bad Night

Remember a couple of weeks ago, when I just happened to mention that Grandmother Willow–the one in our yard–was a willful, unruly soul?

Well, last night’s windstorm taught her a thing or two.

It was actually pretty ominous to see the enormous…

heavy branches…

that were–not doubt–capable of doing some serious damage…

to a strong and sturdy house, or the not so strong and sturdy people inside it…

come apart in the middle of the night with a mighty crack…

only to fall and hover about 6 inches above a flimsy little wooden fence…

without doing one tiny speck of damage.

What an incredible blessing.

“Gratitude is born in hearts that take time to count past mercies.”

Positively Loving…

Teaching my favorite 3 year olds to teeter-totter without maiming  each other.

Discovering that there is still one more fabulous Harry Potter book to read.

Lily’s amazing, ridiculous, almost scary ANIME face.

Choosing my very own magic wand–Rosewood, with Unicorn Tail core.

Um…I mean, it chose me…heh…heh.

Spending the whole day watching my favorite 2 year old while Mommy’s away.

The character revealing hand I ended up with in our last game of Apples To Apples.

My sleepy looking, far-away boy heading out to Finland to have his visa renewed.

What about you? What are you positively loving today?

Just Lovely…

Seeing a pretty pink bow on a curly little head.

Stumbling upon a still loved, nearly ancient, baby monkey

Catching a couple of silly heads–pretending to be asleep.

At last, picking a handful of berries that the Robins didn’t find first.

Watching two little friends play for an hour with just a piece of ribbon.

Holding two tickets to a new play at the Hale Theater–woohooo!

Working on a new quilting project–that I’m determined to finish. No, no…I mean it this time.

Sharing retro wax drink bottles with a new generation of little people.

Finding out that pretend friends can actually be very real.

What’s lovely in your world today?

Gratitude Inspires Happiness

“Gratitude is a Spirit‑filled principle. It opens our minds to a universe permeated with the richness of a living God. Through it, we become spiritually aware of the wonder of the smallest things, which gladden our hearts with their messages of God’s love. This grateful awareness heightens our sensitivity to divine direction. When we communicate gratitude, we can be filled with the Spirit and connected to those around us and the Lord. Gratitude inspires happiness and carries divine influence.”
