Magic String…

Remember this pretty stuff that we found for $1 last year at JoAnn’s? I’m always amazed at how a silly piece of string can magically transform into something soft and warm…

The green and pink were used to make the baby lambys–yeah, that’s how I spell it–a while back. Remember?

Well, the grey and the gold have worked up nicely…

into toboggan hats for our Lily and Beckham…

and the pink one is for the Chompy–so soft and sweet.

And all from a silly piece of string.

Oh, and happy Groundhog’s day!!

Allllll Alone…

When you live in the house with a sweet baby Chompy and everyone goes away for the day…

you might think it would be peaceful and perfect.

But I’m telling you, it’s just quiet and weird.

There’s nobody sitting in the chair dropping their lunch on the floor.

There’s nobody poking this grumpy kitty.

There’s nobody calling me on the phone.

There’s no baby bear sleeping in this just right bed.

There’s nobody sitting in a barrel counting eggs.

There’s nobody doing the shopping…

or bringing home donuts…

or feeding the birds.

The princess is singing all by herself…

and there are no gates to scale…anywhere.

And I’m just sitting here…waiting…

for them all to come back.

Because when you live in a house with a sweet baby Chompy…

it’s just quiet and weird…

and peaceful’s not so perfect.

Baby Butterfly

Had a few friends ask about the sweet little headband with the dainty butterfly on the side…you know…from the other day.

We tried to get a close-up modeled by our squirmy little Chompy. It kinda worked.

I’ve put a few in the Etsy shop and am doing my darndest (is that really a word?!) to get the pattern on there as well–certainly, a much, much loftier project.

In the meantime, we’ll just stay indoors and enjoy butterflies in the winter.

They are welcome indeed.

Two Years of Two

Seriously? Is this where we are?

Could our sweet babies honestly be turning two?

Truly? Madly? Deeply?

It’s hard to believe…

that we’ve had all this sunshine…

for two years straight.

And yet, somehow…

it must be true.

Whether or not I’m ready for it…

the babies are not such babies these days.

The only thing growing faster than these little dew drops…

is our love…

for them.

Say Cheese!

Something very peculiar is going on these days.

Whenever we hold up the camera, and say, “Smile!” this is what we get.

It’s getting so that…

somebody’s got to stand on their head!

Ah, well–as long as it isn’t me….
