Greenery Then and Now

St. Patrick’s day always has us all thinking, and wearing and tasting and seeing green–positively everywhere. Since Jillian is the only one of us that has actually been to Ireland–she let me borrow one of her incredible pictures to celebrate the day. Seriously–do we even have that color green here?

I carried my little leprechaun with me all day–out of the bottle of course. He’s happier that way.

Dusted off my shamrock earrings–the kids LOVED them.  :}

Been saving the perfect socks for this day as well.

Three years ago, Baby Chomp had her own way of spending the day.

Now, she’s much more rainbows than just the color green–which of course, is perfect!

So you know, we did make Miss Chompy’s green jello, marshmallow…umm…thing. Not sure if you’ll be seeing that one or not. Still pondering whether or not it’s edible.

Speaking of edible–my adorable niece Emily, brought over dinner to celebrate the new little soul in our world and St. Patrick’s Day too. Incredible corn beef and asparagus, carrots, cabbage, mashed potatoes and gravy, fruit salad and rolls. We were in heaven I tell you…heaven.

Found this little four leaf clover glass pebble a while back, so yeah…I carry that around too.

Remember this silly guy modeling my Leprechaun hat and beard? One of these days I’ll figure out the pattern for that. Pretty dang funny.

Hope your St. Patrick’s Day was lovely too and filled with magic.

As it should be.

Such Plans

Oh, my friends–I had such plans. Plans for granny squares, and luscious desserts and St.Patrick’s Day fun and…and…and…

then this wonderful thing happened.

And now, it’s hard to think of much else other than kissing that sweet baby’s neck and touching the back of his feather-soft hands and playing with those teeny, tiny toes.

Luckily, big sister Miss Chompy is here to keep us on track. She says we will be making a special treat for St. Patrick’s day this very afternoon, and that is that. She also says that it needs to involve lots and lots of marshmallows. That’s very important. Watch for it. Sounds like it’s happening.

Honestly–who could argue with that face?

Things I Really Love…

this very minute.

~Being close enough to touch one of the most beautiful buildings in the whole wide world…and actually touching it.

Seeing my cute little nephew finally-finally get to marry his sweetheart.

Finding a 12 pack of my very favorite candy bar–that comes clear from England–on Amazon for only $10…with free shipping. Yes, please. Click.

Hearing that Miss Jiff–“the mouse slayer” has earned her keep–this week. Though her brother, the Bean, has been inducted into the kitty-cat hall of shame…shame…shaaame.

Awww–our favorite fellow in the whole world~Jillian’s Uncle Andy…truly one of the very rarest of “good guys” left around.

Wrapping gifts for our “Prize Bags” the way a certain character probably would. More about that in a couple of weeks. Heh, heh, heh.

My cute little dashboard guardian polar bear that sort of glows-in-the-dark, as I drive home late at night–so I’m not afraid.

Just waiting…and waiting…and waiting. Tick-tick-tick.

:} What about you? What do you love this very minute?

True Comfort

After working for the past couple of weeks on the Moda Contest projects every spare moment and at last–at last, having it all behind me (phew!), I set out today to just kinda…you know…loaf around a bit. It felt lovely to not actually have anything in my hands that needed to be worked on or finished.

Then I had the overwhelming urge to make something but wasn’t quite sure what. I puttered out to the garage and ground up some wheat flour in case the craving went that direction. How about cookies? I thought.

But then I realized that Jillian had that area covered with a batch of Oatmeal Farm Cookies. So again, I wandered around waiting for the food inspiration fairies to come at me.

Before I knew what was happening, there were whole wheat pancakes on the stove just waiting to be my comfort food of choice.

Ummmmm….Applesauce, and whipped cream besides. Apparently, I need a ton of comfort today.

You know, it’s quite likely that I would be as thin as a rail if I just didn’t like food so much. HA!

Then without even realizing what I was doing, the baby’s ripple was on my lap and I’d fallen right back into the warm, soothing, rhythmic, handiwork of this lovely thing. I’d thought that perhaps I wouldn’t be able to pick up a hook at all for a while, but that just never seems to be the case around here.

In fact, for me there’s more gentle comfort in sitting back with a hook and ball of yarn and just letting my fingers do what they mindlessly do–for the heck of it–than in nibbling on a whole, entire plate of pancakes. How lucky is it that I was able to do…

both?

Heh, heh.

Isn’t life good?

:}

So Much Love

Back from their honeymoon–at last, at last, the kids (oooh…can I call them kids?) came home and invited us to their wedding-gift-opening night.

What may have looked like chaos to some, was in fact, a huge downpour of love, for these two sweethearts. And oh, my goodness–so much love from so many…

dear, sweet, beloved friends and family.

It was sincerely incredible to watch them be so showered on and see them be absolutely delighted. Such thoughtfulness from so many. In the end, I’ll admit, I was nearly speechless…

nearly.  :}

I do have one question though.

Who gave these guys permission to grow up…so fast?

Hmmmm?

Sheesh.
