A few weeks ago, I was invited up to the KSL tv studios. Luckily, Lyndi and Mr. Magoo came along, because I’m not particularly fond of big, huge adventures…by myself. And this proved to be a pretty big, huge adventure–indeed.
We got lost and so by the time we got to the right building, most of the people were already gone. But still they had piles and stacks of lovely food for us.
This was the closest that I’ve ever gotten to a real, live television camera, but they were turned off so it wasn’t too scary.
The TV people did have me stand between these two boards so they could take my picture…holding…(ahem)…the award they gave me. It was so sweet of them. In fact, I never posted about it because I was just waiting for the picture to come in the mail…like they said it would. But I haven’t seen it yet so you’ll have to just imagine me standing there trying to look very, very young and thin. It was a bit of a struggle.Β :}
PS– Thank you to everyone who voted for Gracious Rain…it was very kind of you and made me smile positively for days.
I may not post every day but I do read your blog everyday! I just love you launi, so full of life, laughter and happiness! not to mention recipes divine ^_^
You so deserve that award and a million others like it! and more people should read your blog. you are just a ray of sunshine to all of us and we are LUCKY to have you!
And what’s all this about trying to look young and thin? We LIKE having more of you to hug and with age comes experience <3 wouldn't have you any other way *big hugs* can't wait to see that pic… aw, now you are going to make me cry just thinking about the whole thing- you go, girl!
Your blog always makes my day a little better – more informed and inspired. Thanks for all your efforts – you totally deserved the recognition!
What a great award to win Aunt Launi! You are a great blogger,and I have found myself crying, laughing, and coming back to your recipes time and time again. Absolutely deserved. So, so proud of you.

Ok, could I please just hire you to run around behind me and whisper some of that in my ear from time to time? You are so sweet and I just LOVE you to bits. I really do need these comments more than you guys will ever know. Thank you so, so much…
Well, my dear friend–you can take credit for the fact that, for the most part, this has been a daily blog for nearly 4 years. I try so hard to post each day, sometimes, simply because I like to think of you reading it first thing in the morning. No on wants to disappoint their best friend. :}
Oh, Tracy–you are so sweet to me. Thank you so much for making comments because you know how happy they make me. You have such a kind and tender heart, and I love you so much. Thank you honey.
Always remember whose idea this was in the first place. I didn’t even know what a blog was until you explained it to me. Remember how we spent nearly a whole day trying to pick a name? We loved “gracious” but toyed with every other word in the universe to go with it. Remember? Then you said, “Besides your kids, think of what you really, really love.” Then we both said, “RAIN,” at the same time. :}
You make my site beautiful and orderly and most of all, you have always made me brave enough to think I could do anything. Thank you so much honey. I love you.
Rachael, you are SO right! π She DOES deserve more readers and a million other awards. I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks so! π
Oh Mom… I love this blog. I love it because it makes you happy, gives you a way to write, encourages you to try new things and selfishly because it documents so many fun parts of ALL of our lives. Thank you for working so hard on this, even when it didn’t always feel worth it. You are amazing and I love you. I’d nominate you for “Best Blog Ever!” if I knew where they were taking submissions! π
Congratulations!!! Things happen,, I thought it was only to me…. lol
