Birthday Wishes

The Bald Kid tells me that we are to eat some eggs in honor of his birthday—

that he is spending in a far away land–called Siberia.

An odd place to turn 20 in–but he’s happy as a clam and learning and growing and becoming more and more of the man he was meant to be. And now–we have no more teens in our family. That’s even more odd.

Oh, how I miss this fellow.

Happy Birthday my sweet boy.  We love you.

Peaches ‘N Cream

Don’t you just LOVE Summer?! Good thing peaches are starting to come on because I’ve been craving them like a nut. How about you? Yeah…I bet you have.

So, this amazing little thing outta just about do it–for all of us. It tastes like a soft, light, fluffy, peachy–cheese cake. Or maybe that’s exactly what it is.

That would explain it.

Crust:

2 cups Graham Cracker Crumbs

6 Tbsp butter, melted

1/4 cup sugar

Mix ingredients together and press into the bottom of a 13×19 pan. Chill.

Filling:

4- 8oz pkg. Cream Cheese

3/4 cup sugar

1 small pkg. peach jello

2-3 fresh peaches–peeled and chopped

1- 8oz Cool Whip

Beat the cream cheese, sugar and jello powder until fluffy. Add peaches and whipped topping and blend on low speed until mixed well. Spoon over graham cracker crust. Chill until firm–a few hours. Serve cold.

Bring some over to my house–we’re fresh out.

The Big Show

I suppose some may think that it’s a tragic day…

when you want nothing more than to put on a sweet little puppet show

so you gather your puppet friends and get everyone ready…

but your only audience turns out to be…

the cat.

And even he isn’t particularly respectful…

of the time and talent it takes to put on such an amazing show.

In fact, Mr. Beany slept through it all…

even the solo number.

Alas~ true artists are never appreciated in their own hometown.

But in the end, we did learn one important fact.

Apparently Harry Potter and Edward Cullen get along just fine–ask Ernie and Bert.

We love you WeeKnit!

Just Lovely…

Seeing a pretty pink bow on a curly little head.

Stumbling upon a still loved, nearly ancient, baby monkey

Catching a couple of silly heads–pretending to be asleep.

At last, picking a handful of berries that the Robins didn’t find first.

Watching two little friends play for an hour with just a piece of ribbon.

Holding two tickets to a new play at the Hale Theater–woohooo!

Working on a new quilting project–that I’m determined to finish. No, no…I mean it this time.

Sharing retro wax drink bottles with a new generation of little people.

Finding out that pretend friends can actually be very real.

What’s lovely in your world today?

{ Tell Them }

“We can begin to become more diligent and concerned at home by telling the people we love that we love them. Such expressions do not need to be flowery or lengthy. We simply should sincerely and frequently express love.”
-Elder David A. Bednar
