Supreme Softness

100 Happy days #9

010

These, my friends, are my great big, fluffy, soft, squishy, burgundy slippers. They are not too tight and not too wide and have plenty of wiggle room for all my wiggly toes and have the good sense not to pinch anywhere. For that very reason, I have nearly worn them clear out–although I just got these dear things for Christmas–two months ago.

If I could wish a good fortune-y kind of wish for you–it would be that you could have a pair of squishy slippers to slog around in…

just like these ones.

Believe me, your feet would be very, very happy.

Mine certainly are.

Timely Revelation~

100 Happy Days #8

009

I just realized that instead of dragging my fluffy body to the boring old Nordic Track, and trying to beg myself to stay on there a measly 20 minutes–

I can set up my kindle with big, huge, READABLE font and engross myself in a really good book.

Seriously, time just flew by without me even knowing it. In fact, I looked up at the clock and I had gone over my goal time. My first thought was, “I’m not finished with this chapter.” Heh, heh.

Perhaps I’ve finally discovered the secret to exercising for more than 20 minutes by giving myself permission to read.

Exercising is making me pretty darn happy…

at last.

That Tough Guy

100 Happy Days #6

004

What would a list of happiness be without a picture of my dear, sweet, silly old three legged cat…hmmmm? This sturdy fellow has had a pretty tough old life. As a matter of fact, this guy has been a fighter since he was very young–quite literally–whopping great, big, mean cats out of our yard and sometimes neighborhood, not to mention the dogs, three times his size that are sorry they ever met him. He’s come home with cuts and scrapes and even a completely broken tail one time. He’s been shot with a bebe gun more times than I care to think about–(an angry post that shall forever remain unwritten) and has several nicks in his ears and scars on his head to prove it. He was kidnapped–no, I’m not kidding–and taken nearly 50 miles away and after 9 days, found his way back to us–terrifically skinny and scarred up, but happily home. Then, last year, as you may know, he broke his back leg and was so brave about it, that we didn’t even know for a month. Eventually, he lost that leg, but sincerely–if you saw him, you’d swear he had no idea it was even gone. He’s gained weight since and his coat is thick and shiny again as if he were a youngster…but he’s not.

He has followed me around since he was a kitten and still seems to be happy enough just sitting a few inches away from me–no matter where I am. This very minute, he is laying dangerously close to the office chair I’m typing in, completely content to stay until I go upstairs. He’ll come with me, I know.

I’m pretty sure, this little kitty is the dearest, most loyal, non-judgemental friend I have ever had. I love him so much.

Please, just live forever, Beany.

Could you do that?

It would make me so happy.

Minty Lace

100 Happy Days #5

023

At it again, I’m afraid.

019

This pattern–that you may remember from a few weeks back, was just too much fun.

021

It’s the perfect pattern to work in front of a movie or to ease a few more rows in before bedtime.

010

So soothing and nice that I actually offered to make one for my sweet little expectant niece. Yep…offered.

She wanted a cool, springy mint color for this little girlie who was due in three weeks.

011

Well, I finally finished it the other night and folded it up to wait.

She must have heard that her soft, fluffy blankie was ready and decided to come try it out.

New sweetheart–born just yesterday. Welcome, little one.

Makes us all very happy indeed.
