Happily Ever After

It’s such an odd thing to wake up one day and find that my sweet little daughter…

is just not so little anymore. In fact, she’d transformed into a real, live fairy princess.

On this lovely day of her wedding to her sweetheart…

I hope you’ll forgive the obvious gaps and puckers in my photography. Oh, I did my best to capture so much that was wonderful about the day~

the beautiful decorations and pictures…

our sweet “babies” playing follow the leader…

patient, loving daughters…

a hardworking sister–who made the cake, btw…

and the dearest…

of eternal friends.

I couldn’t help but remember when Jillian was the little girl in the flowery, yellow dress–

being reminded over and over to keep those tiny fingers off Grampa’s pretty wedding cake.

But while I busied myself with snapping shots of as much of the day as I could…

there came a time when I had to pause and just watch for a moment or two…

or I would have missed my baby girl turning into a beautiful, grown-up lady…

right before my eyes.

And truly, no one should ever miss the chance to have a fairy princess take their breath away.

Be happy my darlings in your wonderful new life together. Happy honeymoon.

We love you.

African Flower Continued

Remember this pretty little African Flower motif from last fall? Oooh, it was so fun to make, and I even got a few emails about it. It’s also been repinned on Pinterest…a lot.

As much fun as all that is–for me–it got even better the other day when I received an email from Brenda over at Brenda’s Bric-a-Brack. Turns out that she really loved this fun little flower and went a step further.

She turned it into a pot holder. I think it’s beautiful and such a good idea!

I hope you’ll let me know if you ever make something from this blog. I’d love to see my creative friends…in action.

Plus, it’s very good for my heart.

A Fairy Boy…

from a sweet friend in far away Portugal. Isn’t he just amazing?!

I never expected anything so gorgeous to just appear on my porch, out of the blue…like magic.

But there he was with his spindly little legs–carved out of a tree branch– I think…

and adorable smile. Ooooh, I could just eat him up! In fact, I’m going to hang him on the canopy of my bed so that I can see him all the time and just let him make me smile.

I positively LOVE him to bits!

And you too Teresa. Thank you so much for your kindness, and your generosity and most of all, for knowing just how much I love the fairy folk, and all the love and sparkle they bring to our world…

just.

like.

friends.

PS~ Happy Summer Solstice everyone. Did you know that today is the longest day of the year? To celebrate, I’m going outside to walk around in my bare feet and…you know…connect with Mother Nature. Then, I think I’ll come inside–where it’s cool–and eat an apple or something.

What Summer-y thing are you going to do today?

Movie Giveaway WINNERS!

Yes, yes…that’s what I said…WINNERS…with an “S.”

See, it’s like this—since there were only a handful of entries in the first place, and since I’m not very good at choosing winners and since I have a deep seeded desire to make everybody happy all at the same time, the best thing to do was to let everyone win. :} I know, I know. Therapy could probably help, but that’s not happening…and this is way cheaper. Heh..

So, Kathy Lawrence is the first winner of the movie Sea Biscuit and the coveted Thor dolly. Dude, Kathy–prepare to be surrounded by total awesomeness. No, really.

And to the rest of you–Sea Biscuits for everyone!! Try to be brave about the Thor plush…I only had one.  So now– Lynnette, Andrea, Martha, Tracy and Amy–if I don’t already have your address then you’ll need to send it to me at LauniKAnderson@gmail.com. Simple as that.

Congratulations to the whole planet…kind of.

:} with love,

Launi

So Much Love

Back from their honeymoon–at last, at last, the kids (oooh…can I call them kids?) came home and invited us to their wedding-gift-opening night.

What may have looked like chaos to some, was in fact, a huge downpour of love, for these two sweethearts. And oh, my goodness–so much love from so many…

dear, sweet, beloved friends and family.

It was sincerely incredible to watch them be so showered on and see them be absolutely delighted. Such thoughtfulness from so many. In the end, I’ll admit, I was nearly speechless…

nearly.  :}

I do have one question though.

Who gave these guys permission to grow up…so fast?

Hmmmm?

Sheesh.
