Things I’m Loving…

right this minute.

Bringing home a little bit of Autumn from the grocery store even if we didn’t get it from the garden this year.

Having a photography genius for a son-in-law who took this gorgeous picture of the same river that I took a picture of except my picture didn’t look anything like this. Someday I’ll figure my camera out. In the meantime…thanks Josh!

Having my far away boy happily settled in his new country–Kazakhstan–where he can finally have an oven and they grow apples as big as his hand. Trust me, that’s big!

The rolliest, polliest, sweetest little baby legs a guy could possibly ever have.

My new favorite TV show, “Once Upon A Time” on Sunday nights. I’m. So. Hooked.

Having our own little fix-it girl who’s decided that she is in charge of all home repairs from now on.  ;}

Finding out that Mock Turtles do indeed taste just as good in October as they do at Christmas time. hee hee.

Finally having some good news to send to the boy about his beloved Vikings–at last, at last. Go Vikings!

Watching the rain pour down from my bedroom window…hearing it…smelling it…and reaching my hand out the window to touch it. Ooooh–welcome Autumn!

What about you–what are you loving right this minute?

Stuff and Fluff…

that I love right this minute…

My new favorite soup in the universe–that isn’t homemade I mean. It’s incredible especially with a cup of black beans tossed in…and tortilla chips on the side…and cheddar cheese sprinkled on top. Ummmm….

A box of books that are ready to find a new home at the thrift store. Moving books and shelves does make a person re-access what stays and what…goes. Can’t you just hear a chorus of “The Cirrrrr-cle of Life” right now?

A very special, very secret, very big project that’s occupying my hands these days. Any guesses? Here’s a hint–it’s for our Breaking Dawn 2 Premier. Hee hee… Who’s coming with us? Hmmm?

Bright luscious crab apples just begging to be picked…

and a sweet daughter who is willing to come over and…you know…pick them.

A new Farmer’s Market to fall in love with–the Pleasant Grove Promenade. Navajo Tacos, Spare Ribs, music, veggie booths–so much fun!

Soft, willowy grass to curl your toes in.

A little spikey haired baby boy that steals our hearts at every turn.

What a lovely week it’s been!

Some Lovely Stuff…

going on around here…

~this little Magoo who thinks he’s eight months old, when he’s really just barely 6, and no amount of pleading will make him believe or behave otherwise.

~a little water sprite who can’t resist getting just a little splashy sometimes.

~having a beautiful view of “Y” mountain while I sit in the car waiting for a friend.

~fresh, beautiful, juicy, irresistible, marvelous new peaches…all for me.

~a pretty little butterfly that flew gracefully from Miss Chompy’s fingertips clear up to the branches of the crab apple tree. What? You can’t see him?! Trust me, he’s there.

~outdoor lights on a late summer evening.

~and this silly boy–in case you didn’t believe me the first time around.  :}

Pink and Purple

The other day, as I was taking pictures of the project you see here–I thought to myself, my goodness those colors are pretty. Now, I’m well aware that there are more popular colors around these days–my daughter tells me that yellow and grey are all the thing. OoooKkkk.

Apparently I have a deep seeded need to utterly rebel.

I never really thought I was that type of person, but the evidence is right there in front of me…everywhere.

When we bought water bottles, April chose the very modern orange and lime green…

I chose pink and purple.

My sister made me a lovely purple-blue scarf and my daughter made me a bright pink one…so this one’s not my fault, they were gifts. But the pink and purple gypsy scarf in the back–yeah, I bought that. Don’t worry, I’m not belly dancing or anything–it was just pretty.

I have a crafty idea that needed a couple of swim noodles so when I found them at Walmart, is it my fault they were purple and pink? Hmmmm?

One of the soft, squishy blankets on the end of my bed is just the right shades of purple and pink, pink and purple.

I never knew they made duct tape in bright pink, so naturally when I saw it, I had to…you know…buy it. Again, not my fault. I was overwhelmed.

Picture frame from my cute daughter…pink…

business cards…purple.

April wouldn’t let me put pink on there too. She said that the purple was “quite enough.”

Hmph.

When I was a little girl I told my mom that pink belonged to me…that I owned it. My mom said, “Wellll, ok.”

What I didn’t tell her at the time, was that…

purple’s mine too.
