Ooooohh…Look…

Michelle Thibodeaux from M Design Photography sent me these adorable pictures from a recent sitting at her studio. Sooo…what do you think? Huh?–huh?

Aside from the gorgeous baby and the amazing photography skills, do you notice anything…else? Hmmmm?

Need a hint?

Check out the sweet little flapper hat.

Looks pretty darn familiar to me, I’ll tell you. Heh, heh, heh…because it’s FROM MY SHOP!!

Oh…was I yelling? Sorry, I can’t help myself. It’s just so exciting.

{sigh}

Famous at last.

Well, at least the hat is.

So, to celebrate this new found fame–of sorts–let’s have a giveaway!

Click HERE, to see my shop.  Look around, then tell me in the comments below which hat you’d choose if you were to win one. Simple as that. The winner will receive their choice of hats from my shop.

Now scurry along…and come back.

I’ll announce the winner on Monday September 27, 2010 at 10 am sharp.

So…which will YOU choose?

Blessing Day 1958

The only thing different about getting a baby ready for their Blessing a million years ago–or 52 to be exact–and doing the same thing today, was that when you took the picture back then, it was in black and white–like the whole world was back then.

As you can see they still had the hand made shawls and poofy white dresses and the flowery little hats. Then the family comes together at the church and the baby is given a name and a blessing. The name I was given was Meliauna Kirby…and no, I’m not Polynesian. My father loves Hawaii and he was in a mood. So that was that.

Mom had the last word though, and  insisted on calling me Launi. I’m thinking it must have suited me better. At any rate, it was easier to pronounce. And so…as you know…

it stuck.

My Little Garden

No, no…I didn’t win the chicken boxes. But don’t worry…I only cried for an hour.  Maybe they found out that right this minute I only have this pretend chicken in my garden, who is perfectly content to sit under the rose bush among the grass clippings…without an incredibly cool nesting cubicle thingy. But I will have chickens someday.

Ok…I’m over it.

Is your garden like ours–all spent and spindley and nearly begging to be pulled up?

The strawberry sentry squirrel is still guarding away…

even though there’s only one brave strawberry left to scare the birds away from.

And good old laughing Buddah-man is still raising the roof…

whether or not the ridiculous tomatoes EVER turn red…before Christmas that is.

Spinny-wing rooster is a perfect match for…

the over achieving super hot peppers…that I’m afraid to pick….so they just keep growing…and growing. I guess what I’m really saying here is that I’m about ready for the garden gnomes to shut it all down for the season. Till it under, trim it back or dig it up so that it feels right and proper to move on…

to our beloved crab apples!

Then it will truly be Autumn.

New Kids In Town

I’d like you to meet a few new friends that have just recently moved in at our place.

First we have Miss Yin Yang…

then Brave Running Water…

and Miss Hula Lula.

Then we have Miss Dutchy Dikewater…

and Jose’ Noway.

All of these little finger babies came to play with us from Wee Knit–one of our favorite places.  Oh, we love these sweet things so we gave them their own apartment in an Altoids box. They are sooo happy–and we are sooo happy. You might just need to have some come live with you–then you’ll be happy too!

Group hug…
