Fairy Friends

I’m well aware that it is February, but looky what Santa brought me! It’s the next little pixie in the Flower Fairy series. I have a current set now and this Miss Tiger Lily Fairy is just perfect to complete my collection.

And her new friends are all waiting to be hung back up on my canopy where they can flit and twirl to their hearts content…along with the wind chimes and spinners. This little fellow is the Holly Fairy. I believe he’s just been kissed…see below.

But in the meantime, I’ll show them to you up close–because they’re so darn pretty. This is Miss Bluebell Fairy.

The Pansy Fairy–that we couldn’t find for positively years. But thanks to clever Lyndi–we have her now. Heh, heh.

Shy little Lily Fairy is one of my favorites.

The Poinsettia Fairy was actually the first in the set. I love her cute little hands.

Marigold Fairy is my second of her–because the real wood sprites that live here sort of broke the wings off the first one.

Rose Fairy is next with her gold tipped wings.

And lastly, the Mistletoe Fairy, blowing a kiss to the Holly Fairy–way up there at the top.

Nine so far in the set. I have no idea how long Hallmark will go with the collection, but I’ll be here as long as they will. After all…

I do believe in fairies.

Cold Feet

Years ago, when Jillian, the boys and I lived in a place with tile floors in every room–we learned the value of a good, warm throw rug. In fact, this place got so cold at night that I made each of the kids their own rug for Christmas to keep their feet warm. Jillian’s was pink and white. Dane’s was the blue and white. And the Bald Kid’s was the yellow and white. But now that nearly all of those kids–Jillian and Dane–have gotten married and found their own places…with tile floors, they decided to take their rugs with them. What nerve!

Lucky for me, I still have the Bald Kid’s yellow and white one or I’d freeze solid when I step on that tile every morning. Luckier still, my sweet little momma left me a big tub of rug yarn to play with.

There wasn’t enough of one color to make a rug exactly like the old ones.

But I’m a creative soul, and I’m determined to figure something out.

Wish me luck…my feet are freezing!

Things To Love~

right this minute…

A pretty girl kitty that seems to really like having her picture taken.

A great big, grumpy man cat that couldn’t care less…about anything…one way or the other…as long as you don’t mess with him.

An incredibly lovely, handmade quilt designed by my smarty-pants daughter over at Prairie Grass Patterns, and sewn together by my dear friend Lynnette. What a great thing to stay warm with.

A balloon wrapped in cellophane to look just like a giant piece of candy…stuck on the wall.

A kind little sweetheart that will make an incredible massage therapist someday.

An amazing discovery–a robot that will do your exercising for you…I’ll take two!

Miss Chompy’s Super bowl outfit even if they aren’t…you know…actually playing in it. Dang it.

What do you love this fine day?
