Oooh, lookey what I got in the mail today. A fun little package from far, far away…
Moscow to be exact. No, no…it’s not from my boy. He’s on the other side of the country and nowhere near Moscow. I know exactly what this little parcel is because I ordered it myself.
I found them on ebay a month or so ago and couldn’t control my clicking finger. Do you recognize these two adorable critters? Let me give you a hint. Before the Bald Kid left for Siberia, I did a post about his preparations and the adventure he was having learning the Russian language. It was called Masha and the Bear.
Well, my friends–this is Masha…
These guys are the stars of an adorable Russian TV show that Miss Chompy has fallen in love with. Of course, we have no clue exactly what they are saying to each other, but it’s still worth watching, because you can pretty much figure out what’s going on even if you’re Russian is rusty.
I mean, after all–it’s a kid’s show.
And let me tell you, this gal knows who these guys are. They’ve been friends for years.
She doesn’t seem to even notice that they aren’t speaking English. I think it has to do with laughter being the universal language…or something.
Now if I can just get this video clip to work…

Masha is one cutie patootie!! You don’t need to know Russian to understand this clip…she gets into EVERYTHING, doesn’t she? And the Bear is one patient soul. Oh, that I had been that good a mother when my children were young!!
P.S. I’ve been lurking for quite some time now but this is my first comment. LOVE your blog!
Oh, I know. Can you imagine having to make a new outfit every time the kids got dirty? Phew! That would have been a nightmare! :}
Thank you so much for your sweet comment–it means sooo much to me. I’m so glad to know that you are out there being my friend!
Yup, she’s cute. 🙂 How did you find this show?
The Bald Kid found it when he was teaching himself Russian. We’ve seen dozens of episodes and they are all just adorable. :}
I love Masha!!! Doesn’t even matter that I can’t understand her! Sometimes little kids trying to speak English don’t even come across as understandable as Masha! 😉 Ha ha ha! That’s just kids for ya!
Do you have a link where you found these? I love to watch this cartoon with my daughter and her birthday is coming up soon. I think she would love this little Masha. 🙂
how do I get the doll? Can you tell me how to purchase the doll? I really want it
Masha are so adorable.. In Indonesia we watch it as a Russian Language audio with an English subtitle.. But there it’s not a problem,, because we understand what they did and I really want to hug my TV every time I watched it,, I hope someday I can buy a little Masha and the bear into my package hahahahaa,, because it’s a little bit hard to buy something in another country from Indonesia ;’).. Anyway I love ur blog,, cheers 😳
Hi Syntia~ I found them both on ebay. I just looked up “Masha” and tons of toys came up. :]
