Feeling the Spirit

“Inspiration comes more as a feeling than as a sound…We do not have the words which perfectly describe the Spirit. The scriptures generally use the word ‘voice,’ which does not exactly fit. These delicate, refined spiritual communications are not seen with our eyes, nor heard with our ears. And even though it is described as a voice, it is a voice that one feels, more than one hears.”

~President Boyd K. Packer

  1. Beautiful. I love that quote.

CONGRATS on your son coming home. I can’t imagine how exciting that must have been. My brother comes home the first of October. I’m so excited I can hardly stand it. It better go by fast :0)!

  2. I loved reading this Launi. Thanks for sharing it. I was at girl’s camp this week and during our solo time I found a huge boulder on a mountainside to lay down on. As I read all my letters of love from home, I imagined Porter laying down right next to me. I wanted so badly to hear his voice or just KNOW that he was there with me. I believe he was there with me, but it only came through impressions or feelings like Boyd K. Packer says.

  3. Love this post. You are so right. The spirit is often a soft voice that is easily drowned out in the noise and confusion we live in. Congratulations on having your son back home. May your summer be amazing!
