Lighting The World

009

My Daney-boy and his sweetheart Kortney came all the way from Idaho to man a booth at Summerfest.

019

The company he works for is called Niki-Nu Lites.

016

Perhaps you’ve heard me brag talk about them before.

015

See they make these beautiful, incredible lights, in all kinds of colors…

020

and all kinds of shapes.

014

Some even have logos…

011

very IMPORTANT logos.

013

These lights are so much fun to put together–easier than I thought too.

012

Of course, people can also buy them already put together…either way.

045

The booth attracts a lot of attention during the day, because the lights are so unique.

018

But the minute the sun starts to dip in the west…

017

these lights simply glow.

022

People actually gather around just to stare at them and try to figure out what they’re made of…

023

and how they’re put together.

040

And of course, my cute boy is right there to show them. Looks like he’s a little light-headed at the moment. HAaahaha.

I crack myself up!

017

If you happen to be in Provo this week for the 4th of July–please come visit my boy in his Niki-Nu Lites booth at the Freedom Festival.

 010

We’ll all be there to help and cheer and clap…and stare.

008

Hope to see you there!

Outside My Window

026

There was a little kiddie fair put on by PartyLand the other day. Miss Chomp and Magoo were sooo excited to go, and me? Well, I’m usually up for an adventure. But this time, I decided to shake it up and bit and NOT go out to the actual fair grounds. Oh, the kids and their momma went in alright, but I wanted to stay in the nice warm car.

036

After all, I had my Lemon/Peppermint water…

035

a stack of magazines and a good book…

031

my crocheting….always–ALWAYS…

033

and even my phone…just in case. Yeah, I was ready for the long haul alright.

027

Then I looked out my car window and realized that there were some pretty things going on all around me–most of them within arms reach.

018

038

011

001

019

022

I’m pretty sure after soaking in all that lovliness–I fell asleep and dreamed of a pretty little brook…

024

  just outside my window.

A Few Sweet Blossoms

001

Oh, my brave, sweet flowers are just barely starting to come to life!

002

I should have clipped these wild things back…but I just didn’t have the heart. They seem to know just where they want to go.

003

I’ve never grown peonies before and I must say, the blossoms are not there…not there…not there…and then BOOM! Big, feathery and gorgeous. It was a lovely surprise this morning.

004

The unstoppable Columbine that just keeps blooming and blooming and blooming…and all in the perfect purple-y color.

008

Not so much a bloom but another sort of pretty thing popping it’s head out from the leaves.

009

These are my lovely Daney-boy roses. He bought this bush right before he left to Lithuania for two years. He knows me well because one is lavender…

017

and the other was bright pink…that is, until it froze and came back completely wild…and a deep scarlet.

A beautiful garden with a mind all it’s own.

Just my kind of place.

A Walk Through The Yard

This season, this Autumn stuff–the vibrant colors, the crisp bite in the morning air and the cinnamony scent to the whole world, can just never arrive soon enough for me.

I wander around the yard thinking, “that’s right leaves–turn burnt orange, and brick red…

and bright, fiery yellow.

And by all means, when you’re finished, feel free to fall to the ground.

I love Autumn so much. Everything about it– the cooling and the colors and the falling.

I want to say to all the still-green-stuff-that-won’t-let go, “Oh, my word, could we just get on with it!”

Lucky for me, someone else is in charge of it all and sometimes that means we get to move slowly, carefully, gently, from one lovely phase to another.

In the end, it’s a good thing that I’m not in charge.

Just think what we’d miss.

~30 Days of Thankful~

Sweet Dreams Bolster Pillow

Remember the pretty little Mandala that I made a few weeks ago?

And this pink and purple thingy from a while back?

Well, you’ll be pleased to know that the two have gotten together and made a lovely bed-sized bolster pillow. Oh, my goodness it was fun to make and very satisfying to put together–but neither was as much fun as it was to sleep with the darn thing. Trust me, it makes the softest, most huggable body pillow you’ve ever seen…er…felt.

And now…

I feel a nap coming on…

with a really heavenly pillow.

heh, heh, heh.

PS~ Thanks EVERYONE for making my birthday absolutely incredible! What a wonderful, priceless thing are friends. I adore you, you know. Thanks again.
