Conference Like Never Before

April and October General Conference are a HUGE favorite at our house.  But this year we had a little extra fun, on top of the usual!!  I got to spend the Saturday sessions with Dane and Kortney and the kids. It was positively wonderful.

It’s been so lovely having these guys back with us. And I finally, finally got brave enough to drive clear out to their house BY MYSELF. I know, I know–what a baby, right? Well, I did it.

Take that Eagle Mountain! HA! I’m not scared of you anymore!

Being with my sweet family. Eating luscious food. Listening to the prophets speak. It’s perfect, I tell you.

So many beautiful, loving moments…

of pure… Heaven.

The Wanderers Revisited

Well, out of the clear blue sky…ok, not really–but it felt like it–all these lucky ducks hopped on a few planes and ended up in EUROPE!!

They were very clever about the rooming situation–all the girls in one room and all the boys in another. Adorable–right?

It will be so much fun getting once-in-a-lifetime photos from these guys every few days.

Next time…so help me…I’m going with them!!! I mean honestly, how else will I find my Scottish Farmer? Hmmmmm?

Guess I have some work to do.

Yikes.

Order In the BASEMENT!!

Sometimes when you feel like you’ve run out of space–it is very easy to get overwhelmed and….welll….

let things go.

I admit, that’s exactly what I did. I knew I needed to rotate out all the expired stuff but it felt daunting. And besides, those expiration dates are getting tinier and tinier and harder and harder to see every single day. Ha.

Enter my sweet Lyndi, whose got a fabulous way of taking chaos…

and after hours and hours of hard work…

turning it…

into…

rows and rows…

of lovely, meticulous ORDER!!!

I can now find EXACTLY what I need in a matter of seconds!!

Hallelujah!!!

To me, when I look at my crazy shelves now, all I can see is…

love.

Thank you my sweet, kind, incredibly hard working girl. You’ll never know how deeply I appreciate all this awesomeness.

I love you Lyndi.

April’s Afghan

This sweet project was truly a labor of love that took nearly a year to complete. It was April’s turn to choose an afghan and she chose the pattern and all the colors. She really has the best eye for all that, so I was thrilled that she didn’t tell me to just wing it. That would have gone badly!!

I stitched the squares together with a simple single crochet. I know there are fancier ways to do it but this worked just fine.

The edge came from the deep ridiculous recesses of my brain and I’m sure I couldn’t do it twice–Haha. I just kept going around until it looked like I wanted it to.

In the end, we both thought it was perfect.

For you April….with love.

Dali’s Adventure

So, I’m just sitting at my desk, minding my own business when I hear a tiny squeek. Ohhhh….man. I know what that means. Dali is not in the pretty little basket that I fixed for her to have her babies in, back in the laundry room.

Nooooo….she’s laying in the kitty couch…in the family room. On closer inspection,  I see that she already has a teeny little baby snuggled in with her! What the heck?!!!

Nothing shy about this girl! Instead of hiding away somewhere she is in the middle of the room with both Hobbes AND Lyla asleep just a few feet away

There is absolutely NO CHANCE that she and a few babies would ever fit in that silly thing.

So bizarre.

In a panic, I got very, very brave and picked up the whole couch and put it all in the laundry room basket where I wanted her to be, in the first place. Scooting her off the couch and into the basket–while she is still in the birthing mode was quite the feat–let me tell you! But she was awesome and we did it.

She very quickly had two more babies–three total. We have a brown stripe, a black stripe and a solid black.

SOOOOO cute!!!

She seems comfortable and content.

Now if she’ll only stay put.

Fingers crossed.
