Hazel’s Unicorn

Our little Hazel loves Unicorns. No, no…I mean she REEEEALY loves unicorns. She wants to go to Scotland someday NOT because that’s where our family comes from–but because apparently, their national animal is a Unicorn. She’s convinced that in some mystical, magical forest over there–she will certainly find one…

and bring it home.

For real.

So when her birthday came around, there really was no other choice but to make her this pretty little baby…golden horn and all.

I mean, seriously–aren’t those curls just the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen?!

And oh, my goodness the tiny WINGS!! They made me giggle the whole time it was coming together.

Happy Birthday sweet Hazel. I hope you find your real live Unicorn someday.

Gingerbread Houses 2022

Ohhhh my goodness! How many times have we made these crazy little houses?!

However, we haven’t actually done one quite like this. Notice the double chimneys. There’s your first hint.

See if you can figure it out.

I worked on this side of the house with my little brick planter and flowers and sweet rock pathway…

and only the stuff I particularly love– on the roof.

Ok, on half the roof.

There was someone else making a whole different building, with a totally different vibe, on the other side of this house.

Think of it like the ultimate Christmas duplex–if you will.

Mrs. Claus on one side and Mr. Grinch on the other. Haha.

It was very him–if you get my drift.

Hazel said that her house looked so good that she wanted to eat it. No one could think of a reason for her not to do it…

…so she did.


I hope we do this every year…

Sundae Envy

April took me to lunch at Cheesecake Factory for my birthday. We ordered our cheesecake and a brownie for the little one.  Then they brought me a cute little Sundae as a birthday surprize. Turns out it was the perfect size for Miss Hazel!

I guess you can see how she feels about that!

Don’t worry–we traded and the brownie was divine!!

The Mystery Puzzle

Finished this factory sealed puzzle just barely. Notice anything peculiar? Hmmmm? Yeah, there are about 60 pieces missing. Yes, I know the two year old was helping, but we’ve checked EVERYWHERE and there is no sign of even one rogue piece kicking around anywhere. So unless she ate them- this is a Sherlocian mystery.

I’ve never seen anything like this.

Sheesh.
