Hope of America 2026

I don’t even know how many times our family has seen “Hope of America” but it doesn’t matter. We love it. This cute fellow…

and his sweet cousin Hazel were in it this year!

We got the video version on a live stream. My sister and I watched it from the comfort of our own couches!

Have mercy–that is a lot of stairs for us older folks!

L was right down there on the floor…

so his family got some really great pictures of him…

right up close!

He was even on the Jumbotron!! This is my favorite COOL shot of him.

Go L!! Go Hazel!! It was a wonderful night watching both of you! You did a great job!!

We love you both so much!!

USA! USA! USA!

PS- this is not a video of their group but it is a sample of one of the songs they sang. It’s all just beautiful!!

My Sweet Advent Calendar

On the last day of November–alllll those weeks ago- haha– April and Lily came over and gave me an amazing surprise.

Ok, yes, they brought me a yummy cinnamon roll that Lily made and some hot chocolate, but the REAL surprise was…..

this beautiful box…

with all it’s mysterious littler boxes….

that April’s family filled up with…

all kinds of magical Christmasy things!

There were candy canes and water bottle stickers and brown sugar fudge…

yummy lip gloss…

a soft, fluffy wash cloth…

and even a ridiculous Perfect Man made of chocolate.

Ohhhhh Aprilllll. Hahaha.

One box held heavenly soft plaid socks…

another had a chocolate marshmallow Santa–that only April and I truly appreciate. Heh.

There were lovely ornaments…

chocolates and more ornaments…

and MORE chocolate!!!

I especially loved the teeny, tiny Mrs. Claus cup ornament.

You know, I always wanted to be Mrs Claus when I grew up.

I’m not even kidding.

Best of all–each of those different boxes came with a sweet little  note from Hazel, Lily, Beckham, Jacob or April that I will love and cherish forever.

Thank you so much my sweethearts.

You made it like Christmas every single day.

A Chicken For Hazel

Little sweet Hazel asked me to make her a chicken…just because she loves them so, SO much.

And if you’ve been around here long enough, you know exactly what I said.

“Anything for YOU my dahling!” Heh, heh.

She turned out kinda cute…wouldn’t you say?

Wish granted my love.

Kitty Moving Day

Welllllll, it’s not what we’d planned but bossy little Dali decided that she wanted the babies out of the laundry room and into the family room…under my sewing machine. Good grief.

I’m certainly not a bit convinced that it’s a good idea–but Miss Hazel certainly didn’t mind.

While she was holding this little one, Dali jumped up on her lap and grabbed the kitty by the scruff of her neck and took her back over to the blanket. Nothing aggressive about this little mom cat! Haha.

This baby fascinates me. We’ve never had a totally black kitty before!

Oh, Dali, Dali. I’ll give this a couple of days and THEN we’re going to make other arrangements that don’t include new kitties on my carpet.  We’ll just see how you like that.

Bossy mom cat.

Sheesh.
