Oremfest 2025

The yearly event formerly known as Summerfest has changed it’s name…

to Oremfest for some silly reason.

I’m an old duck and I guess I resist change that seems to happen just for the heck of it. Hmph.

I didn’t get as many pictures this year, because I was a little distracted.

See, this was the first time in a lonnnng time that Dane and Kortney were here for it…

but they were also leaving before the fireworks to go home…

and head out to Arkansas.

Whew…that was a tough one, watching them all walk off into the sunset.

I cried for an hour.

We have our new sweet girl this year–who makes that cute boy so, SO happy.

Poor L was still sad about Uncle Dane leaving. I hear you, buddy.

We’ve been coming to this event since my girls were babies…

back when it was called the Glow in the Dark Festival.

Changes. Changes.

Even if I’m a sappy cry baby, I do love the progression and the growth and the joy and the adventure and all the good things that surround me and my sweet family…year after year.

We are blessed and I am truly grateful.

Book SHELVES!!

Oh, my GOSH!! Look what is going on at my place!

Josh and Nate are setting up the bookshelves…

that I’ve dreamed of having alllll myyyyy liiiiife!!!

I used to work at a bookstore when I was a youngster and that only enhanced my deep love of books….and the need for more bookshelves! haha.

I wasted no time in getting started filling these pretty things.

Fiction. Alphabetical, by author…of course.

We’re just getting started, because once I’m finished with fiction…

I’ll move on to non-fiction…

and self-help…

and history…

and homesteading…

and writing…

and crochet…

and maternity…

and natural health…

*SIGH*

I guess we’ll be needing the other three bookshelves set up.

Then we’ll move on to…

Church books.

I should probably just hang a sign outside that says, “Library.”

But then, that might disturb all the time I need…

to read.

Heh, heh.

Conference Like Never Before

April and October General Conference are a HUGE favorite at our house.  But this year we had a little extra fun, on top of the usual!!  I got to spend the Saturday sessions with Dane and Kortney and the kids. It was positively wonderful.

It’s been so lovely having these guys back with us. And I finally, finally got brave enough to drive clear out to their house BY MYSELF. I know, I know–what a baby, right? Well, I did it.

Take that Eagle Mountain! HA! I’m not scared of you anymore!

Being with my sweet family. Eating luscious food. Listening to the prophets speak. It’s perfect, I tell you.

So many beautiful, loving moments…

of pure… Heaven.
