Ahhh…Logan

Sometimes we have “official business” to take care of in Logan–the sweet little town 2 hours north of our place.

And sometimes the only official business is finding the most beautiful raspberries in the State–and buying them two flats at a time.

This time was a mix–April had some fun “official” places to go and I’m always up for the drive…and the raspberries.

We always visit the “cookie store” when we’re in town because it borderlines criminal behavior…not to. We got off easy this time though because it wasn’t a cookie day. Today was Parmesan Goldfish day so we each grabbed a bag–for the kids and got out of there with our lives. Sometime I’m going to figure out when Milano day is…THEN there’ll be trouble.

We took turns saying, “Can we just live here?” about twenty times in the first couple of hours. It would be perfect–just enough town, just enough country.

~sigh~

We made a new discovery this time around…a truly wicked discovery. Let’s just say that the next stop was for dry ice–lots of dry ice.  :}

Gossner’s Cheese store grabbed us next–and I think we behaved very, very well for a couple of cookie, Creamie, cheese freaks.

Someone should be clapping for us.

Speaking of well behaved–the little dudes were pretty darn good sports as we drove merrily along in one of our favorite, beautiful places.

Yeah…pretty sure I love this town.

Back To The Canyon

With everyone going in so many directions these days–just to make life work…

it’s a wonder that somehow…

finally, finally…

we made it back to our favorite canyon…

for that very same thing that we do, every year– you know…

soak in the beauty of this incredible world we live in.

Oh, there are a few new–very welcome faces this time…

but other than that, we try our best to keep things…

sweetly…

beautifully…

playfully…

deliciously—

the same.

Because no matter where these “baby birds” of mine have been…

or where they’ll go someday—

right now…

it feels perfect–

just like this.

Favorite Days

Don’t you just love listening to a fabulous motivational speaker–you know, someone who inspires you to work hard…

to be a better person?

I do. In fact, I bet I have close to a hundred such speeches on cassette tapes. I know…I’m old. But they still work.

We are a lucky bunch because twice a year we get to hear from our favorite Church Leaders in a series of Conference sessions for a couple of days.

We even use the days of inspiration as a lovely excuse to set out wonderful food…

and gather the sweet kids around, while we watch and listen together.

Of course it takes some  very special “lion taming” supplies in case we encounter any wild animals.

Yeah, it happens.

But mostly, it’s the sheer fun of being together while we laugh and sew and listen hard and take notes on how to do things just a little bit better.

But seriously, all that food never hurts.

~Such a Lovely Day~

If a person is going to celebrate growing just a bit older…

then what better way to spend the day…

than with so many of the things…

and people…

and places that I love…

completely surrounding me.

Ahhhhh….just the right combination of everything…

and everyone.

These people know me so well–

it’s almost…

embarrassing!  :}

But oh…how I love them for it!

It was positively the most perfect, lovely birthday.

Thank you, everyone–family and friends. I’ll keep this day tucked safely in my heart–forever.

I love you.
