Miss Chompy’s Little Man

Sometimes, little people have a strange adjustment to having a new little baby just appearing in the middle of their world. But not our Miss Chompy. Oh, my– how she loves her new baby brother.

She loves to watch his face and touch his toes and feel his hair with her chin and let his tiny fingers wrap around her oh-so-much-bigger ones.

Even when he’s fussy she seems to have figured out that it’s just what babies do sometimes. She pats him and says, “It’s going to be all right, little man.”

I’d say…better than all right.

It’s going to be perfect.

{ The Perfect Mother }

“There is no one perfect way to be a good mother… Each mother has different challenges, different skills and abilities, and certainly different children… What matters is that a mother loves her children deeply and, in keeping with the devotion she has for God and her husband, prioritizes them above all else.”

Elder M. Russell Ballard

Things I Really Love…

this very minute.

~Being close enough to touch one of the most beautiful buildings in the whole wide world…and actually touching it.

Seeing my cute little nephew finally-finally get to marry his sweetheart.

Finding a 12 pack of my very favorite candy bar–that comes clear from England–on Amazon for only $10…with free shipping. Yes, please. Click.

Hearing that Miss Jiff–“the mouse slayer” has earned her keep–this week. Though her brother, the Bean, has been inducted into the kitty-cat hall of shame…shame…shaaame.

Awww–our favorite fellow in the whole world~Jillian’s Uncle Andy…truly one of the very rarest of “good guys” left around.

Wrapping gifts for our “Prize Bags” the way a certain character probably would. More about that in a couple of weeks. Heh, heh, heh.

My cute little dashboard guardian polar bear that sort of glows-in-the-dark, as I drive home late at night–so I’m not afraid.

Just waiting…and waiting…and waiting. Tick-tick-tick.

:} What about you? What do you love this very minute?

I’ve Noticed Something…

Now that the wedding flowers are all hung up to dry…

and the tuxedo has been sent back to the shop…

and the last of the boy clothes have been packed up…

I’m missing a few things, you know, like crazy singing in the shower–in some strange foreign tongue–early in the morning…

and a guy razor always, always left out for me to put away–at odd times of the day…

and the goofy clothes dropped beside the hamper…ahem–instead of in it.

See that? Not even one single whisker to wash out of the sink. Sheesh.

In fact it’s altogether too quiet and too tidy and too…too…well...girly around here right now.

Of course, I’m really happy for him.

And certainly I’m really proud of him.

But mostly, I’m really, really, really missing him.

Congratulations my darlings–

Happy Honeymoon!

Reveling In…

right this minute…

~our hourly visit from Flash Gordon…at least, I think that’s who it is.

~a fabric stash that’s calling to me from the depths of the closet.

~Cinnamon Sugar donut holes–a most wicked, dreadful treat, that should be eaten alone to be done properly.  Heh.

~a soft, cuddly sleeper for the sweet new baby doll up the road a ways.

~tossing a few lovely things into a skillet and having it turn out tasting beyond incredible.

~finding a “Random Stripe Generator” at a site called Biscuits and Jam–to help with a fluffy little crochet project for the new soul coming soon.  :}

~a quart of soup from one of my favorite places on the planet…and a loaf of asiago bread–that would like to remain anonymous–to go along with it.

~finding that the sugary crumbs are nearly as good as the real thing…

until mommy catches you.

What are you reveling in right this minute?
