Thankful block…

Here is a pretty great thingy that we made a while back–which I positively love—so I want to show it to you. It never hurts to have a reminder to be…

Of course, we didn’t free hand this–fear not. It was a big, old block of wood that we painted, sanded, roughed up a bit, and then “dirtied” with some black stuff–no idea what it was. Then we took a rub-on stencil and a tongue depressor, and applied the sticker. Pretty dang easy.

People ask me all the time where I got it, but since it was an Achievement Night Class project–I have know idea where the stencil came from. However, if you love this and are interested in something like it, I’m just real sure that Katrina– over at Katrina’s Kreations could likely hook you up.

The Chicken or the Egg?

Well, I found an Easter craft that wasn’t tired and lame and best of all–didn’t frighten me. It’s first in line at the Crafty Crow site. In fact, I found quite a few really cute projects. Pretty clever dudes over there gathering up a raft of ideas so you can find them all in one place.

Here is my attempt at the pop open felt egg with the teeny tiny chick inside.

All you really need is a few felt scraps and different colors of embroidery floss. They are quite tiny so it went together fast. (I made most of this at a track meet) How tiny are they–you ask? The pattern for the birdy is the top of a spool of thread. That’s how tiny.

Sweet little pocket treasure for your Easter chicklets–that whip together in a flash.

Go there–you can do it.

Oh, and in answer to the age-old question: Which came first–the chicken or the egg?

The egg.

Now you know.

Easter Bunny Wrappers

Aren’t these Easter Bunny Wrappers adorable?

We found them at our good friend’s place— Katrina’s Kreations and the good news is…they’re FREE!

All you need is some white or colored paper or card stock and some candy bars—and you can make them for your own Easter basket.

Once you’ve printed and cut them out, all you have to do is wrap them around a candy bar and tape them in place. You’ll see that Katrina has even added tiny bows to hers.

What a simple way to let your baby bunnies know how much you care this Easter.

So hop to it!

March Sunflower

Some of my kids think that if I start posting silly things like potholders on my blogsite–it will peg me as an old chick…like maybe a grama-type…and maybe that’s not perceived as very cool these days.

Welllll…I think there are plenty of good reasons to do it anyway.

First, unless you like steaming your fingers off, we all use potholders–right?

Second, if you know how to crochet*, you know potholders are really easy to make–for yourself or for a gift. And they might as well be cute—right?

Third—and my own personal favorite reason…are you ready?  At my last birthday–the cake said, “50” so you can decide for yourself how “old” that makes me. And thanks to my cute daughters–I AM A GRAMA-TYPE! So, now and then, I suppose it’s ok if I act like one. heh, heh, heh.

That said, I will add this timely disclaimer: While I am all in favor of the monthly themed hotpad on my blog–I utterly refuse to post anything made with an old plastic doll head and a Clorox bottle. It creeps me out—always has.

I will never be that old.
