Off Season

A funny thing happens around here this time of year.

Superbowl is over. No more Patriots. No more Vikings. No more football…

at least on T.V. that is.

I must admit—the best part of this cherished “Iron Giant vs. The Smurfs” playoff…

is having front row seats on the 50 yard line…

and all the Cheetoes we can eat.

:] heh, heh… I mean rah-rah!

A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from our lives.

A simple, special, memorable moment.

A moment I want to pause, savor and keep close to my heart.

Happy weekend my friends!

Snow Buddies

Doesn’t this ancient picture of “Snow Babe April” remind you of the picture of the little kid who was so bundled up that they couldn’t move? Cracks me up because I completely did that to my kids. In fact, whenever Prell was wearing this snow suit–with all the extra layers beneath it–we had to carry her up the stairs because with these tall boots and thick leggings she couldn’t actually bend her knees. But I’ll tell you–she was warm.

And check out her pint sized snow man. His eyes are made out of…Doritos.Yeah, in retrospect, I find that quite odd too.

But what the heck…

we were fresh out of coal.

Hope you’re all staying warm in all this white stuff my friends.

A Tale of Two Sisters

Once upon a time there were two sisters. They were very close because they were only a year and a half apart.

They played together and walked to school together and shared a room together for a million years.

But mostly–they liked to dream together about…someday. What it would be like when they were grown and had families of their own? They decided that it would be fabulous and that their children would be the most amazing, wonderful people in the universe. They would be very happy.

And they were right–on all accounts. But when they would get together, still they would talk about what it would be like…someday. They decided that it would be wonderful and everything that they’d ever dreamed of–and more. They would even be happier than before…if that was possible.

And they were right.

Congratulations my sweet, dear sister. I’m so happy that your someday is…today.

May you be as happy as we always dreamed.

I love you with all my heart.
