A Few Changes…

for the bald kid.

My cute, faraway boy has a new companion. His name is Elder Johnson and he is—get this–bigger than the bald kid! This is highly unusual news.

This boy of mine is used to being the absolute giant–since he was a kid. In fact, years ago, he was handed the keys to a mini van at a youth activity and told to “take that group of boys home.”

His reply?

“Dude, I’m twelve. I brought my skateboard.”

It will be nice for him to look someone straight in the eye–at last.

Another change–he has left his beloved town of Tomck and moved to a different–much bigger city that he calls, “Krasno.” No idea how to spell what it’s really called. He says they get lost quite a lot and have to ask for directions.

Now, he lives in one of these random little “doms” in this very big complex…thirteen hours away–from his last town.

But the biggest change of all is that the temperature is dropping and it’s been snowing for about a week now. He looks kind of cold–poor guy. And wait, are those dark circles under his eyes?

He promises me that he’ll be going out this week to buy some nice, warm boots and a big, cozy fur hat. Hurry boy–hurry!

Your silly mama needs to know that you are safe, and healthy, and happy and warm.

Then all will be well in my heart.

Oooh, I miss you my boy.

What’s Right In The World…

this very minute.

The enormous pumpkin bounty–hee hee–from our garden. I know, I know. We’ll do better next year.

Homemade tortilla chips…baked, not fried.

Said that last part in my deep, manly radio voice.

Our living “paper doll.” This little chicky is a genius at those pesky last minute costumes–I tell you.

A busload of lovely, amazing, magnamonious–made that last word up–movie tickets. Woohooo–Breaking Dawn!!

This pretty little–or not so pretty and not so little–composter, that’s about to become my very best friend…and the garden’s too.

When Tink borrows Minnie’s gloves for the ball. Yeow.

The beautiful Autumn leaves right outside the window. We’re about to need some new rakes…a bunch of them!

The perfect, most scrumptious way to capture a ghost…a marshmallow one, that is.

The house I dream about in my sleep. That’s me peeking out the kitchen window. Well, I can see it, even if no one else can. :}

A lady and her kitty…for the moment…until she breaks free. But Miss Chompy is persistent and usually wins these matches–and Jiffy gets the hug of a lifetime.

We should all be so lucky!

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

What’s right in your world? Please tell me a few things you’re grateful for and I’ll get them on the “Gratitude List,” and on our quote rotator below and to the left.

It’s about time we updated those things–don’t you think?

Have a good weekend my friends!

A Couple of QBs

Kinda funny–isn’t it–how tossing around that one funny-shaped ball can get into somebody’s blood?

I guess you could say that we start ’em young in these parts…on purpose.

All I know is that there’s something pretty darn cool about a three-year-old…

with a smokin’ hot spiral—just like his Uncle Dane’s.

I personally think the matching beanies help a lot…ha!

But if all this means that we have football to watch for a whole new generation…well then…

everyone’s happy at our place.
