A Beautiful Mission Call

Our cute little Lily is going on a mission for our church!! When she got the actual call, it came sooner than she expected and even she was surprised. She decided to go from family member to family member to let them all know.

This, of course, was Dane’s reaction when they called him.

I knew where she hoped to go–so I was pretty DANG excited to hear the actual place. I’m so excited for her!!

Rhen and Jessica got the news and–took it well. Haha.

Lyndi and Nate’s happy response.

And Jillian is completely thrilled too.

Away They Go!

 

Ooooh I have sure loved having these guys around…

close enough that they can come by each day and play…

or rest…or just hang out with me and the kitties.

The time went by too quickly and then…

before we knew it…

it was time for them to leave.

Oooooh I’ll miss you Merrick…

and Kortney…

and my sweet Dane.

Safe travels my loves.

Junior Photographer

While we were at the park the other day, “K” asked if she could take my phone for a few minutes.

She said there were some really pretty things around…

and she wanted to take their pictures.

I said, “sure, just watch the battery,” and nearly forgot all about it.

That is, until I looked at all the photos that I didn’t recognize in the camera roll.

It was so much fun seeing what caught her eye, especially since we were all at the same place…

and other than the people…

I had missed all the rest.

Trust these wise kids to shine a light where the rest of us aren’t even looking.

School Days

Summer went waaay too fast! Here we are with these cuties going off to the first day of school. Hazel is going to love 6th grade!!

K, T & L are ready for their new year too! They look adorable in their uniforms.

And of course, Beckham and Lily are too grown up for these school day pictures! Bahaha! They’re happy to be the free folks, for a few weeks anyway.

Oh, my goodness, I wish we could slow it all down. I want to just hold these people still long enough to get a good, hard, loving look at them before they flit off to their future.

Doesn’t seem so long ago that these school kids were not grandkids…but myyyy kids….who are, of course, all grown up now.

But I still remember clearly the magical smell of new notebooks and pencils, and erasers –from their childhood…

and from mine.

Still gives me goosebumps.
