:: Yummy Oatmeal Bars ::

Ingredients:

1 cup butter- softened
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsps vanilla
1-3/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats

 

Directions:

Heat oven to 350°F.  Beat butter, and sugars in large bowl until light and fluffy; blend in eggs and vanilla. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats. Spread into a lightly greased jelly roll pan or cookie sheet.
Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until set. Do not over bake. Cool. Cut into bars and serve alone or with ice cream.

  1. Well, these started out as something entirely different but I couldn’t find all the ingredients. So, this is what we ended up with and it was GREAT! Plus, I really did just leave them where the kids could eat them “all the day” because…
    we were on vacation. Hahaha.

  3. Well, here’s the secret…they’re actually in there! Haahaha… I couldn’t resist and there was only a random half bag in the cupboard–which is blasphemy all by itself–so I threw them in there on a whim. I didn’t add it to the recipe because there weren’t enough to see and certainly not enough to satisfy a choco-beast…like…you. But you’ll be pleased to know that I DID try. :}
