Diglett Evolution

When I made the last Diglett for Beckham’s Birthday, I wasn’t particularly satisfied. He was cute enough, but only just barely. I wanted him to be cuter.  I wanted him to look like the Diglett I would have made if I wasn’t in such a hurry. It was keeping me up at night.

I mean it.

Then, Rhenny-boy showed me this evolution of Diglett called Alola.

Recognizing my chance to make the changes I wanted…

I kidnapped him. This little guy totally got a make-over. He has a new nose, new felted eyes, new lumpy, bumpy,  more stable dirt and LOOK…

He even has HAIR!! This is the cutie that I wanted to make if I’d have not had to rush so much at the end. So incredibly much more huggable than the last guy.

Best of all, Beckham loves him and I can finally, finally get some sleep.

Sun Bathing

I wake up most mornings to this silly thing crying to be let out to the room at the top of the stairs. It’s where her own personal spot of sunshine hits and she lays there basking until every scrap of it is gone. On overcast days–when there is no sunlight whatsoever, Jiff will act mad at me for hours.  Like I’m in charge of the sun, and just not letting her have it, or something.

Maybe I need to get her a heat lamp and totally be the Goddess of all warmth and light.

I could live with that.

The Mystery Puzzle

Finished this factory sealed puzzle just barely. Notice anything peculiar? Hmmmm? Yeah, there are about 60 pieces missing. Yes, I know the two year old was helping, but we’ve checked EVERYWHERE and there is no sign of even one rogue piece kicking around anywhere. So unless she ate them- this is a Sherlocian mystery.

I’ve never seen anything like this.

Sheesh.

Missing Them

April and Jacob are on a wonderful trip to Israel for Jacob’s cousin’s wedding and I’m staying with the kids while they’re gone. To make it easier on itty bitty Hazel, we made a picture of her parents that she can look at when she misses them.

It helps her if she can look at the pictures and I can say, “Mommy and Daddy will be home in a few days sweetie’–even if time is a bit of a mystery at this age.

What she does understand though is that they are her world.

“I wub dem.”

“I know honey…I know.”
