Farm Girl Barbie

Okay…this is the coolest Barbie in the whole wide world. I’ve seen all the Astronaut Barbies and the Heart Surgeon Barbie and the Nuclear Physicist Barbie and to be honest, I was never really interested…personally.

Then I saw this pretty little thing and I LOVE her. Oh, she still has the silly lonnnng neck that makes me laugh. But she also has work clothes on  and just a regular person face. Thank you very much. Finally.

The best part is still to come…She’s holding a CHICKEN!! Just as she should be–hahaha!

Yep. Now we’re talking.

Chicken Barbie.

My spirit sister.

Cheesy Potato Egg Bake

Prepare yourselves, my dearies–because this little cheesy, hammy, egg-y, potato-y bit of Heaven is a breakfast dream come true!!

I’m all about anything that is easy and quick to toss together, in the first place. But to know that this is a wholesome, protein-packed day starter is a huge plus. Pretty sure the littles will even eat this one.

And get this–you can throw everything together the night before–if that floats your boat! Just put all the ingredients into the pan, cover it with foil and poof! Ready for the morning. It does take about 40 minutes in the oven, but you know that’s how long it takes to get all those kiddos ready anyway, right? Of course, right.

Oh, one last thing. Four ingredients.

Un-huh. That’s what I said.

Frozen, shredded hash browns…

grated cheese…

and diced ham or cooked, crumbled sausage…

and of course, eggs.

Simple, right?

Yeah. You ow me big.

Things To Love

A new line of fabric from my favorite designer, April Rosenthal, called Mama’s Cottage, with a particularly personal touch. See the blue house, with the red roof? That’s my house–immortalized in fabric!! Hee, hee…  So beautiful and of course, it just makes me sooo happy.

Then there’s this little sprig of joy.  He’s such a little smiler, all the time. And don’t miss the matching church ties. So dang cute!

This little labor of love, for a sweet boy with a cold head–more on that later.I may have made one in red…too.   :]

Having a really smart daughter that knows how to put these ancient relics into a format that we can actually watch. What a blessing not to lose all those memories that we thought we’d never see again.

And finally, these little golden girlie curls. Yes, I know it’s blurry–but you can’t take a clear picture of a firefly.

So much to love. And that’s just a pinch.

There’s always more.

Crochet Nativity- The Shepherds

Our lovely little Crochet Nativity adventure began last year. The very next thing that happened after that sweet baby arrived in the manger–was those lovely little shepherds showed up.

But my poor daughter April had to wait a whole YEAR to get these little guys to come around. A few pieces each year, for her next birthday is about as good as I can do.

Totally worth the wait—wouldn’t you say?

The basic Nativity pattern is found HERE. Of course, I mess around with it in my own way. Heh, heh.

The Lucky Turkey

While all of us were sitting around letting the turkey settle and the pie percolate, the kids put together an adorable little impromptu play. Have you ever seen a cuter turkey in your life?! I mean his body is a big box and they stuck paper in his mouth for a beak. And the FEET!! Hahaha!

He even has colorful turkey feathers in the back. Bless his little turkey heart!

Now to be honest, I’m not totally clear who everyone was here. But I’m thinking pilgrims perhaps?

In the end, they decided NOT to eat the turkey because he was just too cute! Hooray!

I can guess what won those hungry pilgrims over.

It was those adorable turkey FEET!!

Oh, my goodness I love these kids!
