Summer Cookies

Since “chanting” for Spring didn’t really work–remember last week’s snow episode?–I figure we’ll jump right ahead and try sliding gracefully into summer. I mean, seriously…what have we got to lose ?

These little diddies should help—don’t you think?

Summer Cookies

Boil for 1 minute the following:

½ cup butter

1 cup white sugar

1 cup brown sugar

¼ tsp. salt

3 T. cocoa

1/2 cup milk

Remove from the heat and stir in the following:

3/4 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup marshmallow cream

1 tsp.vanilla

3 C quick oats

Drop by tablespoons onto wax paper and allow to cool.

Be on the lookout for cookie tornadoes–they are everywhere and can quickly cause cookie devastation…of sorts.

Store whatever you have left…

in an air tight container…

in another country.

heh.

Memorial Day…

One of the many, many days we love…because of what it has always meant to our family…

Alfred R. M. Beck–my great grampa

Johanna Sophia Beck–my great-grama

It’s a day to remember the people we have loved…

Elsie Beck–my grama

Clyde Mitchell–my grampa

and to show that love by decorating their resting places.

Andy Kirby and Marion Mitchell–my dad and mom

This sweet day seems to mean more to me every single year.

Hard to say just why.

Hope your Memorial Day was wonderful!

This Very Weekend…

I ate some amazing Chocolate Caramel Cookies

…and played with a pretty little baby doll…

and drank a peach smoothie…

and shared some with a little puddin’ head…

and read some more scary stuff…

and marveled at the love of fine literature around here…

and studied a ladybug…

and tried to get organized at last and once and for all…

so that we can gladly do it all again…

next week.

Lifelong Service

“All of us now are serving and will continue to serve as lifelong missionaries. We are missionaries every day in our families, in our schools, in our places of employment, and in our communities. Regardless of our age, experience, or station in life, we are all missionaries.”
