Teatime Etiquette

When inviting a guest over for “tea,” of course you want everything to be perfect. Pour carefully and try not to spill.

Always serve your guest first so that they know they are getting your full attention.

Don’t be in a hurry now–take your time. Sip slowly and savor the moment.

A little light conversation–perhaps about the weather–will put your guest at ease.

Be sure to offer seconds…or even thirds…if your guest would like a bit more.

Pour yourself another along side them so they feel more comfortable.

If you finish before they do, just be polite and patient, smile…

and go find some cake.

Lacy Handwarmers

We haven’t had much snow this winter–almost none–but that hasn’t kept the temperature from dipping down below freezing. Since the heater in my car has had a mind of it’s own lately, I decided that some wrist warmers might just be the thing to keep my nippy little fingers from chilling right off. And since I have all those pretty wool colors…

and since wool is so naturally warm, AND since this beautiful Rowan Wool is soft and very UN-wool-like, I’m thinking this’ll do the trick.

What do you think? Aren’t they just scrumptious? They remind me of a big bowl of luscious raspberry sherbet–which I use to have at my birthday parties, years ago–only much, much…you know…warmer.

Heh, heh.

Superbowl Sadness

You know we love, love, LOVE football over here at our place. I mean, you know we’re serious if there are matching jerseys going on.

And of course, I’ll take any excuse to watch Tom Brady throw that ball for our beloved Patriots.

We even made Marshmallow Brownie Bars because the last time I made them was almost exactly a year ago–and since Daney boy loves them, it seemed like a good thing to do–and about time.

Oooh, look…there’s Tom again. Sorry, it was an accident.

We found all the odd snacks hidden in the back of the pantry–even Popchips, and yes, those are Mother’s Iced Animal cookies on the floor over there. Believe me we needed every one of them…

to console ourselves with…

when our cute boys…

lost 17 to 21 to a dreadful team that shall remain nameless.

Ahhh…well, we still have our Marshmallow bars to wallow in while we wait–another 6 months for football season to come around again.

Good thing I have a hobby.

Happy Birthday Dane!!
