The Countdown

This sweet guy has been counting down his “single life” for MONTHS now. So with just a few days to go, it was time to try on the actual wedding suit. I was pretty dang excited that he asked me to go with him.

Ohhh, that happy face.

He came out laughing and dancing. Of course I just sat there giggling at him hopping around all over the place. The shop people were even laughing at him. They’ve got to be used to this kind of thing, right?

I haven’t seen this handsome guy in a suit since his mission. Yeah…pretty sure we burned that one. Two years of Russia. Yikes.

But I digress…

Ohhhh Rhenny boy. I love you so much. You look  incredible.

The suit is nice too.

Face Time From Afar!

While listening to a session of Conference these two sweethearts called from Paris! Holy smokes–the Eifel Tower to be exact.

It was choppy.

It was fuzzy.

It was a little hard to hear.

But mostly, it was glorious and waaaay too short!

Travel safely my loves and come home soon!

love, love, love…

…mom to you. Heh, heh.

Hollow Knight

A few years back, my son played a game called Hollow Knight. He would play, I would read or crochet or work on a puzzle.

What I didn’t actually want to do very often was to…look up. The game gave me the creeps. Not for any violent or evil thing going on. It was actually pretty tame in that way.

But the music was sad and creepy and there were a lot of bugs. Tons of worms and centipedes and assorted crawly things–many much bigger than I was comfortable with. Perhaps I haven’t shared with you how I feel about bugs.

Perhaps I have.

Barf-o-rama.

ANYway, the hero of this game was a little white rabbitty looking dude with a sword that I was ok with.  Rhen loved the game so much that out of the blue, I decided to make him this little fella.

Quite pleased with myself if I’m honest.

That is, until my son thanked me for making Knight… the big, white…

beetle.

*gag*

Soldier Hollow Mud Run

For the former Bald Kid’s birthday, he wanted to do something particularly tough and manly. So he asked that every able and willing soul in our family do the Mud Run with him. It helped a ton that this event actually took place on his birthday. Slightly providential, I’d say.

All those brave folks converged on Soldier Hollow and ran through a bunch of muddy obstacles. Apparently you could get slightly muddy or terrifically muddy–depending on your particular vigor and/or love of or aversion to…ahemmud.

Jillian and I sat this happy event out under a lovely canopy under the guise of taking care of the younger kids that couldn’t join in. Phew!

As you can see–if you wanted to stay crisp and clean–we were the lucky ones.

If you wanted to have a memorable, hilarious bonding experience–then we missed out on most of that. But we were there and were able to take the pictures that the muddy buddies couldn’t.

Happy Birthday Rhen.  If you didn’t already know–then there can be no question– you are SO loved.
