Linky’s Birthday

For Linky’s birthday, he wanted his “friends” to come watch a movie with him. His movie of choice was Mighty Pups 2. Good choice little man. Everyone was enthralled–as you can see.

And he loved alllllll his loot. Sweet little guy.

Happy Birthday little love. You’re going to LOVE being three!!

Grammy loves you!

Crocheted Wind Spinners

I’m going to start this by saying that my daddy was a pastry chef.

He passed away about 17 years ago and we’re still at this very moment, trying to figure out what to do with some of his things.

That’s always the case, right?

You want to keep a thing but there’s really no room for it.

Or you don’t want to get rid of a thing but have no idea what to do with it.

Well, that is exactly the dilemma I was faced with. So many of daddy’s cake things that were a billion years old and not really usable but still had so much of him in them. You know?

That’s when a lovely idea struck me.

My dad loved decorating cakes.

Not me.

I’d rather poke myself in the eye.

But give me a crochet hook any day and then we’ll talk.

What if there was a way to smush the best of both worlds into something clever and unique for my entire family?

Could I possibly doooo that?

Turns out, I can.

Everyone chose their favorite color and POOF!

A little bit of Grampa and a little bit…

of me.

See those pretty wind spinners? Me.

See those ancient piping tubes turned into sweet little bells?! Grampa.

April–our color expert–didn’t tell me what colors to use. She sent me a few swatches so it would be perfectly perfect.

Lyndi chose green and blue. Kind of Earth Day-ish colors.

Jillian has always loved pink and yellow. They were even her wedding colors.

Of course Dane, our very patriotic patriot chose red, white and blue.

And Rhen–the die hard Vikings fan picked purple and yellow. The green and black are a nod to Bob Marley, no doubt. Haha.

Merry Christmas my sweethearts.

With love from Mom…

and Grampa.

Grinch Party 2.0

In order to have an authentic Grinch Party–you’ll need…an actual Grinch.

They are slightly hard to find–but as you can see…

we got lucky.

Then, you’ll need an assorted bunch of Whos.

As you can see again…

we…

had…

an ample…

supply.

Heh, heh.

We played a trivia game…

then a “Dump it to Krumpit” game…

where you might get something lovely to eat…

or you might get something really rank…

No…really.

Some of us just hung out,

minding our own business–which was also fun!

It was a happy night in Whoville…

and everyone had a great time.

I can prove it.

Heh, heh.

Mini Halloween Decorations

When mom is putting up all the awesome Halloween decorations and you really want to help.

You’ll need a happy little witch on a broom…flying adorably backwards.

Frankenstein–of course. Duh.

Pokemon with a pumpkin headband is a particular favorite.

Annnnnnd chocolate candy corn…lots of it.

Oh, and see that push pin?

That’s how big these cute things are.

I’ll let you know when she’s ready to be hired out to decorate YOUR place.

Just so you know, I’m first in line.

Helloooo Kitty

For this sweet girly–it only seemed right that she have her favorite little character–which is, of course…..

Hello Kitty!

This one was seriously so much fun to make because–truth is– I love this kitty as much as T does.

I’m happy to share birthday parties and Hello Kitty with this sweetheart because we all know…

that when you share love…

it only multiplies!!

Happy Birthday Sweetie!! Grammy loves you!
