Lead Foot

I need to get up and get some work done— but there’s a kitten asleep…

on my foot.

And yes she is actually hanging upside down like that, with her nose on the floor.

A Smidge of Country Charm

Oh my goodness. There is just something about these two pictures that warms my heart. I may have been born a hundred years too late to actually live this exact life— but my sweet little house is taking on its own country charm one small step at a time. That’s close enough for me.

Our Little Chicken Chick

Soooo what does one get for the chicken loving girl’s birthday? Well, you get a chicken leash and a fashionable chicken hat…

a chicken purse to carry your chicken in…

of course!!

We love you Hazel!!

Miss Hazel’s Birthday

Such a lovely thing–a birthday. Honestly, I love coming to anyone’s birthday because we always have fun just the same. We just love being together. There’s always great food, lovely conversation, throwing footballs, opening presents, eating cake and sooo much laughter.

See for yourself.

Kitty Hideout

Now this is something we don’t see very often. These furry little souls don’t really spend much time hanging out with each other. I mean, a little nod in passing–from the girls maybe, and a good pounce now and then from Hobbes, sure. But laying around having a kitty chat on a cool winter day?

Heck no.

I have several friends with multiple cats and they play with each other and lay all over each other and actually- you know- like each other. Yeeeeahhh…that’s not happening here. No idea what I’m doing wrong.

Sooooo….what’s going on then, you ask?

Well, I’ll tell you.

All three of these chicken liver kitties are actually hiding away behind mostly closed doors to ‘stay safe” from ANYone who happens to come visit me. It could be my kids, my grandkids, my friends, the UPS guy- doesn’t matter. If they knock on the door, the cats take off like Godzilla is coming after them.

Descendants of the brave, mighty lion, indeed.

Big old babies.
