The Little Pirate Princess

Had a bit of drama with this little sweetheart, poor thing.

While running and chasing with her brothers she ran into the door jam and cracked herself in the eye–the brow bone to be exact. The swelling when down to her eyelid by morning and looked so spooky that…

they took to be checked at the hospital and…

even did an MRI to make sure she didn’t injure the bones around her eye.

Luckily, she didn’t.

Phew. It still looks scary–but it’s getting better every day.

Heal fast little one.

We love you.

Jillian and Rhen came to help me set up which made all this possible.

Here we go!!!

It turned out to be a lovely day.

This really could be my kind of thing.

Road Trip-Day 7 The End

Our very last hotel breakfast for this trip. To be honest, I’ve loved it.

Any time you can have food magically appear first thing in the morning–I’m certainly a fan!

Back in the car for a whollllllle bunch more of this…

and this helped.

Awww the stamina building power of ice cream!

Of course this was a welcome site.

But this one…

was…

WAY better!! Wahoooooooo!

We’re home!!!

I’ll tell you what–THIS girl is an absolute CHAMP! She drove the whole time and acted like she knew just where she was going. I am SO proud of her and her incredible bravery…

and life saving sense of direction. Heh, heh.

No kidding. She is amazing.

The kitties were all glad to see me. Dali was thrilled.

Lyla was extatic.

And Hobbes…ok, Hobbes had to act cool but I choose to believe he missed me.

Home again. Home again.

Jiggety jog.

Road Trip- Day 6 Heading Home

Ok, this is my LEAST favorite thing about roadtrips….

having to say good-bye to a big chunk of my heart.

Ooooh, I’m going to miss this sweet guy…

and his family….SO, so much.

The cousins will miss each other too. It was just all so dang FUN!!

It’s so strange to drive away from these guys who just lived down the road a few months ago. Kind of awful, actually. Feels like we should all be going “home” together.

Deep breaths. Deep breaths.

Good-bye sweet family—I love you!!

Road Trip- Day 5 The Hike

Most of the kids and grown ups were feeling very adventurous today so Dane and Kortney found the perfect place to take a family friendly hike into the local forest.

I say, “most” because it was going to be farther than I could walk, so I opted to stay in the car and mind my own business…meaning…I was going to stare out at a pretty little empty field…

and crochet. It was perfect!!

Here is what the  more active folks saw…

Thanks guys for sharing the pictures with me! It was almost like being there …without the hiking.

Heh, heh.
