Ok, this is my LEAST favorite thing about roadtrips….
having to say good-bye to a big chunk of my heart.
Ooooh, I’m going to miss this sweet guy…
and his family….SO, so much.
The cousins will miss each other too. It was just all so dang FUN!!
It’s so strange to drive away from these guys who just lived down the road a few months ago. Kind of awful, actually. Feels like we should all be going “home” together.
Jillian tried something new this year for her boy’s birthday. It was a family or group or company that puts on warrior parties. They are called Battle Birthdays.
They supply all the foam “swords” and shields and whatever else is needed for a bunch of battle games.
Now, you know perfectly well that all the people with any smarts about them stayed perfectly “put” undercover in the pavilion. No swinging swords and crazed warriors running around us.
Nope.
I will say though that it was fun to see all the enthusiastic engagement from the ummmmm….
grown men.Â
Apparently, this was their kind of kids party!
In fact, I almost lost track of the kids completely because it was so much fun watching the big guys.
I think we need to find out if these guys do more than just children’s parties. If they do…we should definitely book them a few more times…
if you get my drift.
Check out this adorable cake that Jillian made with the little sour patch warriors on the top!! She is soooo good at making whatever cake the kids want. It’s amazing.
Oh, yeaaaah–I’m pretty proud of these kids! They all entered the ESports competition for Strawberry Days in Pleasant Grove. Such brave souls. I was way too chicken–but I did come to watch.
Jillian, Lyndi and Rhen all entered the Dr. Mario tournament.
They played through the rounds and got pretty far. At one point there were people standing outside the school windows so that they could see the screens!
Some guy came over by me and started complaining about all the people that had beat him. I sheepishly said, “Yeah, that’s my daughter,” and “That’s my other daughter,” and “That’s my son.” All he said in return was, “Wow.”
I swear, I tried to keep a straight face. We will not discuss how well it worked.
Our boy entered the Smash Bros tournament because it’s his particular specialty. Watch out everybody else!
Rhen and this fellow got to the finals…
but of course…
there can be only one winner!!
No surprise to me who that was!
Congratulations Rhen!!!
But wait!! Right after that–we had another winner in the Smash Bros category!! Congratulations boy!!
