A Blue Heeler Pup

If you have little people around, even sometimes, it’s quite likely that you’re familiar with this little cartoon creature.

 Her name is Bluey.

In fact, this little Blue Healer puppy is so popular that my little granddaughter–Miss Fluttershy– tries to talk like her, and play games like her and…. ummmm…wag her….ummm…tail like her. She even had a Bluey birthday party with all the trimmings.

So, when I found this pattern online at Monoxa Crochet Toys I was really excited to try it. I changed a few things–just because I wanted to–but it turned out just like I hoped it would.

I believe it was a hit. I can just see our girl smiling and…

wagging her tail.

Hee hee.

This Little Piggy

Oooh, we have a sweet little girlie turning 3 this week. She loves kitties, garden flowers, Bluey and Peppa Pig. Hee, hee–I mean, snort!

If you’re not familiar with Miss Peppa– you’re seriously missing a cultural event–because you see, Peppa is an English Piggy. Serious business, this. So between all the snorting–and there is a lot of snorting!– we have the most quirky piggy family with just the perfect English accents.

Our Miss T has loved this little ham hock forever. In fact, she could do a lovely rendition of Peppa’s snort almost before she could talk! And you simply MUST hear her say, “It’s a bit fun-nay” just like the proper British piglet. It’s adorable time 20.

Only stands to reason that she would need her very own Peppa for her birthday. Of course, of course.

Happy birthday sweetie. Grammy love you so much.

Snort-snort!

Night Moon–A Special Pokemon

A few years ago, a friend asked if I would make her daughter a “special” Pokemon character– a bit like Umbreon.

Only she wanted one that she designed herself.  Sent me the picture of what she wanted and everything.

The original “Umbreon” looks like this– yellow circles and stripes.

But the one sheeeee wanted would have white stripes and circles, white feet and have a mane–

like Eevee.

With her picture and a very nice basic pattern from Wolfdreamer…

I jumped in.

It actually took a few weeks, working at night.

I could see it in my head, which is a huge plus when you’re doing something like this.

But it usually means you’ll be pulling out a ton of your work–until it looks…positively perfect.  I took the ears out a couple of times. Did the head twice. And that mane. Phew.

By the time I was finished, it felt like one of my own kids. The hardest part was putting it in a box and shipping it off to it’s new home.

Have a happy life Night Moon!

Yoshi

I found the cutest pattern for a sweet little Yoshi.

It took a few evenings to work up and get him to look the way that I wanted him to–still not sure about the eyes, but we’ll see. It’ll do for now.

It is easily worked in simple pieces so I’m thinking I may need a few more in all different colors.

This might be a bit addictive.

Three Wise Fellows

It is a peculiar thing to me that I seem to be the only person on earth that knows the song, “Out of the East.”

Of course, my poor children know it too because I’ve drummed it into their unsuspecting little minds since babyhood.

My point is that if anyone besides us actually knew and loved that song–we would certainly be singing it now.

Because, I mean really…

are these not the cutest…

most adorable wise men you’ve ever seen?!

It’s this year’s present for my daughter’s birthday. She’s already had the Holy Family, the Shepherds, the donkey, and a lamb…

so logically, these little dollies had to be next.

with their priceless, precious, button gifts for the little baby.

You can’t hear it, but I’m singing…

“Out of the East there came riding…riding, three of the wisest of men…”
