Balloon Fest Morning

Fourth of July morning. It’s what we do–rain or shine. But THIS year, we had some new folks with us that we hope will be here for absolutely EVER. Our little wandering Texans has never really done this balloon thing with us.

We’re so glad to all be together again.

Happy Independence Day!!

All These Kitties

Yeah, there are a lot of kitties in this place. Three to be exact.

Hmmmm…does that make me a crazy cat lady? Who can say? But honestly, how could we do without any one of them?

We have beautiful, shy, skittish Lyla…

bossy, no nonsense, alpha man Hobbes…

and happy, silly, affectionate little Dali.

Sometimes they get along beautifully,

…as if they were the best of friends.

Other times, they would rather have their own space…

to stretch…

to sleep…

and to play.

All that said, they have each nudged a space in our hearts we couldn’t possibly do without them.

and the feeling seems mutual.

Spartan Sprint

Everyone woke up bright and early on that lovely, breezy Colorado morning. Even I got up because I was the official kid watcher for the day.

Look at these brave souls all ready to run their Junior Spartan!

Pay particular attention to how CLEAN everyone is, because that is about to change–dramatically.

There was a little of this…

a bit of that…

and tons and tons of this…

and this…

and this.

I gotta say, I didn’t envy these cool kids one little bit.

Admire them beyond believe–YES!

Envy them, no.

But oh, my goodness–they did it!!

They have every reason to be incredibly proud of themselves.

I know…

I sure am!
