And More Snow~

I positively adore that when it snows at my place…

IMG_1037

it makes everything look so Christmasy.

Like I’ve been whisked away to a ski lodge high up in the mountains.

The backyard is an untouched wonderland…

and the shed looks positively buried.

Apparently some creature has found it’s way here. Dog? Cat? Raccoon? The mailman?

We’ll never know.

Here’s hoping the white stuff stays til Christmas.

Skilled Labor

IMG_1015

Every time I come over to the house to just “hang out” I’m excited to see what has happened since I’ve been here last.

Baseboards are being cut and painted.

The back bedroom is getting a few more coats of paint.

There’s a pretty little corner turning thingy that’s awesome…

and even a new beam separating the kitchen and the living room.

So much stuff that may seem little, but I’ll certainly never take it for granted again.

Our goal is to be in by Christmas.

Do wish us luck!

Small Town Perks

Af Christmas 2

One of the adorable things about living in a small town–is the pretty little Christmas decorations that they line the street with. It’s hard to get good, clear pictures of them all because the only real time we see them is when we’re driving past. They’re pretty…trust me.

They make me want to run down the street yelling, “Merry Christmas, Bedford Falls!”

AF Christmas

But I want to stay here awhile…

so I won’t. But I LOVE them.

The Santa Mug Tradition

We’ve never had a tradition like some people do–where the whole family has hot cocoa on Christmas Eve from a sweet little Santa mug. Never really thought about it, in fact.

Until I saw this funny little fellow while I was out shopping. He sort of, ummm, slipped into my cart.

Couldn’t be helped. Perhaps he just knew.

We’ve a tradition to start.

A Visit With Santa

Ooooh, SANTA!! This is becoming a yearly tradition–Kneader’s and an evening with Santa. Positively scrumptious.

The place is decorated so beautifully.

This little fellow reminds me of a Kris Kringle cookie that my dad used to make. I wanted to take him home sooooo badly.

Magoo’s turn to see the jolly man. He hid behind mom the whole time, and at the very last minute–he bolted!!

That left only mom there to give her Christmas list to Santa.

Lucky for all of us that this sweet guy makes house–or in this case, TABLE calls! He even gave Magoo a Santa cookie for being so…ahem…brave.

And to all a good night!!
