The Farmer’s Market…Puzzle Version

We’ve certainly gone to our share of Farmer’s Markets. When you’ve been around, you learn a few things.

If you’ve ever gone to a farmer’s market and smelled the flowers and homemade soap…

and tasted the apples and peaches and thumbed through the old books…

and sampled the 47 different treats that can be made with a pumpkin…

then you also probably also know that the best time to go to a farmer’s market…

is when the trees look exactly….like….this.

Everybody knows that.

Ask around.

Bitsy Boots

In case you–like me–don’t get out much or wander around in the kiddie show section of your tv…let me introduce you to Miss Bitsy Boots of the Super Kitties fame.

Well, my sweet granddaughter “Miss C” asked me to make her a Bitsy Boots of her own. You know what I say…”ANYthing for you, my dah-ling!”

The pattern called for the fluffy chenille yarn and a big hook. The funny thing was that when I started crocheting–this thing quickly became ENORMOUS!!

I mean, look at those feet! They’re as big as my hands for Pete’s sake.

Each ear was bigger than my palm. It was seriously starting to scare me.

Then came the head. I think it’s adorable, but I happen to know that is bigger than Miss C’s head. I’m creating a monster!

A cute monster–but a monster none the less.

Luckily, Miss C didn’t seem to mind one bit.

Bitsy Boots, meet ahhhhh…meet…ahhhh…

Bitsy Boots two. Heh, heh.

Happy Birthday honey. Grammy loves you!

Aang

If you’ve been around here for a little while, you probably already know that we love, love, LOVE the series Avatar–The Last Airbender. Heck, my boy–back when he was known as “The Bald Kid” even dressed up like the main character, Aang, for Halloween!

I’ve also crocheted another character–Sokka,  from the show for Chompy a few years ago. Our history with this stuff goes waaaay back. So, when Lyndi asked for a crocheted Aang for her birthday—that was an EASY yes from me.

I mean…..those EARS!! Aren’t they just adorable?!!

And his sweet little arrows…well, he just stole my heart.

It’s quite likely I’ll have to find a reason to make the whole set. Can’t be helped.

Sooooo, what do people who don’t crochet, do all day?

I can’t even imagine.

Happy Birthday Lyndi!!

Crochet Link- Plain and Simple

When sweet “L” asked me to make Link (From Breath of the Wild) for his birthday I said, “Absolutely.”

Truth be known, I really love watching the kids and the grandkids play some of these games.

I’m not as entertained by the ones where you’re required to shoot and kill anything that moves, mind you. I’m a more gentle soul than that. Honestly, can’t we all just get along?!

But I digress…

What I do love, are games filled with lots of heroes finding treasure and going on quests and saving the pretty girl in a tower.

I don’t particularly want to play it…but I’m a phenomenal spectator.

When he was finished, as always I kissed him on the head and boxed him up.

After all…everyone needs a hero to hold on to.

Happy Birthday sweet boy. I love you.

A Grasshopper Story

So…I have this very, very naughty cat. No, not that one.

He’s a good boy.

Not that one either.

She doesn’t have wicked bone in her fluffy little body.

Yeaaaah. That one. She knows her name.

Little Miss Chili Naughty Pants.

I know. She looks all innocent and sweet now  but believe me, it’s just a façade. Any minute, she will disappear out the kitty door only to reappear in 3 minutes time with a live, fully functioning GRASSHOPPER in her mouth!!

She used to play with it for awhile, till it was half dead or all the way dead, as I scurried around the room looking for a way to get the creepy thing out of my house, without…you know…having to…touch it. Gag.

Well, little Miss Naughtyness got so used to me chasing her prize around the place, that she decided to help me skip a few steps. NOW she just runs in,  finds me and plops the nasty critter right at my feet, or ON my feet– anywhere that her treasure can be fully appreciated.  Bless her.

If I’m at my desk, she’s content to drop it on the floor behind me so that it will hop right up on the computer screen–or better yet–on my BACK, which it has done right in the middle of a Zoom class…twicein. front. of. people.

Oh, yeah–class gets REALLY good sometimes…

especially when someone is uncontrollably screeching like a six year old.

Then we could talk about the ones that we don’t find…

until later.
