Strawberry Days Esports Competition

Oh, yeaaaah–I’m pretty proud of these kids! They all entered the ESports competition for Strawberry Days in Pleasant Grove. Such brave souls. I was way too chicken–but I did come to watch.

Jillian, Lyndi and Rhen all entered the Dr. Mario tournament.

They played through the rounds and got pretty far.  At one point there were people standing outside the school windows so that they could see the screens!

Some guy came over by me and started complaining about all the people that had beat him. I sheepishly said, “Yeah, that’s my daughter,” and “That’s my other daughter,” and “That’s my son.” All he said in return was, “Wow.”

I swear, I tried to keep a straight face. We will not discuss how well it worked.

Our boy entered the Smash Bros tournament because it’s his particular specialty. Watch out everybody else!

Rhen and this fellow got to the finals…

but of course…

there can be only one winner!!

No surprise to me who that was!

Congratulations Rhen!!!

But wait!! Right after that–we had another winner in the Smash Bros category!! Congratulations boy!!

I taught them everything they know.

BAHAHAHAhahahahaha!

What a fun time.

Hanging out with winners!

Heh, heh.

Pocket Parakeet

Magoo came to me the other day with two little balls of yarn–one green and one pink. He said, “Grammy, what can we make with these?”

Knowing that this fellow loves birds–parakeets in particular, I said, “It looks like just the right amount to make a little bird. He liked the idea.

I wanted to give the little guy green wings but oooooh, I ran out of green yarn and only had enough to edge them. Also, the pattern I found didn’t have a tail–whaaaat?! So I had to make one up.

It’s a tiny little thing. Just right for a bird loving boy’s pocket.

Love you, Magoo.

Oregon~ Beach House

I promised to show you the insides of the wonderful beach house that was our home for nearly a week.

Are you ready?

This is the kitchen/great room. It was positively perfect!

The stairs leading to the loft/playroom. That’s the front door on the bottom right.

The first place that Miss Lily went was out on to the deck to check out the view.

Outside…

looking in.

114

The beach was actually quite a ways below our back deck.

113

We had to go down about a thousand stairs at the end of the block to get all the way to the water.  These stairs went to the lower patio where the hot tub was.

The loft had just enough space for the Bald Kid to stake it out as “his room.”

Josh, scoping out the kitchen.

Dane thinking deep thoughts about…I don’t know what.

Jacob and Magoo…

124

Kortney and Lyndi.

The little guy staying up way past his bedtime. But heck, it’s vacation…

125

and there’s a ping pong tournament going on.

Don’t wait up.
