Tending the Littles

Dane, Kortney and Merrick went to the BYU game tonight and I got to tend the other little ones.

It was pretty quiet because they were in bed when I got there. It was so quiet that I started texting Chomp who was tending Jillian’s kids–for the same game.

Then this sweet little thing got up saying she didn’t feel good so she slept down here by me.

Being a Grammy is pretty dang awesome. I’m soooo lucky.

Such sweet kids…all of them.

The Bacon Brothers

My son Dane has had a booth for his work at the fairs and festivals in the area since early summer. I love going with him to just sit in the booth and talk.

This week, he had a booth with some real perks. THIS was a Fall Fair staring the Bacon Brothers!

I had no idea that Kevin Bacon–from Footloose and his brother Michael, tour around the country playing their own music–just for the fun of it. The concert was totally free and open to the public.

I’ve loved Kevin Bacon in Footloose–even named my son Rhen.

I’ve hated Kevin Bacon after watching him be SUCH a scary bad guy in River Wild. Seriously, it scarred me for a long time.

But I’ve come back to the loving Kevin Bacon phase again,  seeing how much fun he’s having playing his own music with his brother for no other reason than that it makes them both so happy.

We should all give that a try.

The Witch’s Cat

I have two or three October puzzles. Enough you say? HA!  When I saw this cute black kitty…

with his bushy tail and autumn leaves…

and pumpkin friends, I knew he was the perfect addition to our puzzle collection.

Don’t you agree?

Rise and Shout

I haven’t been to a BYU game in a million years!

We had great seats but oh myyyyyy were they ever high up at the top of about a million stairs!

Dane even got a CougarTail…

which he was pretty excited about!

Don’t worry–he shared with all of us!

It doesn’t show so much here but it was a very bright…

very sunny day and we were pretty dang excited when the sun…

finally, finally went down behind the front stadium.

Ahhhhhh–

at last we could watch the game without shading our eyes from the glare.

On top of the great football loving company–we even WON!!

Go COUGARS!!!

The Kitty Couch

On our way home from Taco Bell the other night we turned up a funny little side street and saw this ridiculously abandoned couch, just sitting there on the side of the road. So tacky–right?

Then, on closer inspection–we saw three little creatures that were perfectly thrilled with the arrangement. One of the kitties ducked between the cushions when we stopped to grab the photo, but as you can see, the other two weren’t ruffled in the least. Made me wonder if there were any others lurking in the stuffing. Haha.

They looked well fed and clean like they were someone’s pets…just, you know, having a night out…on a tacky little couch…on the side of the road…

just down from Taco Bell.

Perhaps they’ve ordered take out.
