The Mystery Puzzle

Finished this factory sealed puzzle just barely. Notice anything peculiar? Hmmmm? Yeah, there are about 60 pieces missing. Yes, I know the two year old was helping, but we’ve checked EVERYWHERE and there is no sign of even one rogue piece kicking around anywhere. So unless she ate them- this is a Sherlocian mystery.

I’ve never seen anything like this.

Sheesh.

Missing Them

April and Jacob are on a wonderful trip to Israel for Jacob’s cousin’s wedding and I’m staying with the kids while they’re gone. To make it easier on itty bitty Hazel, we made a picture of her parents that she can look at when she misses them.

It helps her if she can look at the pictures and I can say, “Mommy and Daddy will be home in a few days sweetie’–even if time is a bit of a mystery at this age.

What she does understand though is that they are her world.

“I wub dem.”

“I know honey…I know.”

Baby Puzzle Wizard

Whenever I’m tending kids for a few days at a time, I like to bring a puzzle to work on. It keeps me pretty much in the middle of things and if the picture is interesting enough, I might even have some little helpers. This time the puzzle was candy bars. Good choice, right?

One particular pixie was very, very interested in helping me. At first, I was hesitant, thinking she was certainly too little to understand the concept of fitting the pieces together.

Holy cow. Was I ever wrong.

That’ll teach me.
