Hi Launi,
We just wanted to let you know that we had our precious baby boy! He was born March 24 weighing 8 lbs 6 oz and measuring 20 1/2 inches long. He is a little angel. What an incredible experience. Thank you so much for your classes. They really helped prepare my husband and I for one of the most spiritual, sweet experiences we’ve ever had. I can’t imagine having an unmedicated birth without having the knowledge and practice that your class gave us.
Here’s our story…
All morning on the 24th I felt surges–unusual because they always came in the evening this pregnancy. I had breakfast and did some chores with my oldest son. After recording them for a while I realized that they weren’t very regular–they’d come anywhere from 6-15 minutes apart. So I went about my day. I fixed us some lunch and continued to breath slowly and relax during surges. After lunch I could tell that the surges were getting more productive, though they still weren’t coming regularly. I felt like it was time to go to the hospital.
We got to Timpanogos Hospital around 3:15 pm. I was dilated to about 6 cm. I continued to try to relax while sitting on the birthing ball (my husband did light touch massage on my back and it definitely helped). My surges still weren’t that regular. However, after a little while I told my husband I needed to get on the bed and on my side. After the next surge I told him it was time to push, so he needed to figure out how to get the nurse without leaving me. 🙂 Luckily she came in just then. He told her I needed to push and after checking me she said, “No wonder, you’re complete”.
She called Dr. Savage who got there in record time. 🙂 Lucas was born 5 minutes after she got there (5:25 pm). Yet more evidence that you don’t have to have regular surges to have a baby. 🙂 The birth was incredible. Such a sweet experience. I can’t believe how smoothly and quickly it all went. We were so blessed. And we loved our nurses and the rest of the staff at Timpanogos hospital. Thank you for the recommendation.
Thank you for the preparation and the encouragement. We thoroughly enjoyed your class and we thoroughly enjoyed our birth experience. You helped make it “the quietest natural birth” our nurse had ever witnessed. 🙂 I’m sure that’s not true, but it made me feel good. We really couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you, thank you!
